Oh hey #PortfolioDay ! I'm Andy, an illustrator and artist from New York. I like to draw water, animals and things in fantasy games. I'm seeking full-time/freelance opportunities.

@acid_jones_2009 So far there’s been enough backlash to any AI artwork from enough of the MTG community that Hasbro hasn’t pursued that yet, but I have to imagine there’s some hand wringing going on internally amongst Wizards design staff
@CoreyBrickley@Wizards They’ve publicly said that they’re not pursuing AI as a tool for their artwork pipeline, but it’s already been seen being used in promotional media. I worry it’s an inevitably there will be a top down push to integrate it to up the frequency of content for the TCG
Finally finished with this personal piece I’d started a while ago. The subject of this portrait wasn’t giving me more than a few moments to sit down with it these past two months, but we got there eventually. Oil on canvas for my new daughter

I would like fellow Californians to consider that maybe tweeting a cryptic exclamation whenever there’s an earthquake is not quite the public service they seem to think it is

@deimosremus This is what I felt too. Especially after the long wait, and given how incredibly good their past DLC was for all the prior games. The Bloodborne expansion especially offers up the best segments from that game. Feels like they just didn’t have any ideas left for Elden Ring
I’m a little underwhelmed overall, and I miss when these games prioritized immaculate dungeon designs over an empty expanse of interconnected areas where we fought overtunned bosses that spammed AOE attacks incessantly
Past expansions have provided the most refined and memorable experiences from these games, but this one mostly just brings focus to the most justifiably criticized aspects of Elden Ring. Hoping their next one drops the “open world” honestly, and excises the spirit ashes entirely
@atothe_d I was a fan of the cave people drawings initially, but the the deluge of topless women wearing full armor became a liability to be scrolling through on my phone while sitting at the airport. I would have also have liked to see some variation in how they render lighting
@michael_deforge The perennial “AI is compromising our NDA” is the most laughably impotent argument against AI. As if NDAs aren’t just as much of a tool that’s leveraged to undermine artists already. Those NDAs are for the working artists not Adobe’s algorithm
@leighalexander Apparently a lot of terminally online narcissists have been desperately waiting for a livejournal replacement to post real time updates on their trips to the grocery store. That’s seemingly the only functional use for Bluesky
