A rigid element should change the structure - otherwise it’s just decoration.
Here, the bokken becomes part of the tie: changing leverage, limiting movement, creating new possibilities.

Give different riggers the same constraint, and you quickly see how differently they think.
Exercises like this are a great way to reveal individual style, not just technique.
