@centralNRL I love Origin and I'll buy tickets anyway but what we really need is another NRL team in New Zealand if we want to develop the game. We don't need games that Kiwis aren't allowed to play in.
The exceptions have been Auckland and Christchurch. Both have been laggards, for different reasons. Auckland wants to ‘downzone’ flood prone various areas but legally can’t (the law only lets them downzone). Christchurch has just farted around for years, delaying upzoning.
A lot of comments saying " because it's only once a year" but they don't seem to realise that Christchurch has hosted 4 league games in the last 14 months and they've all sold out - even a pre-season game. It's pretty clear they could have sold out even more games too.
@otautahi_p Not quite. Jim Anderton's Progressive Party had 100% South Island MPs between 2005 and 2011 with a grand total of 1 South Island MP and 0 North Island MPs.
@CortyNC I did a temp job at Officemax and someone phoned up to complain that her son was sent a pink pencil sharpener and was concerned others in class would think he's gay so we had to send a new one out good times
@SimeonBrownMP Thanks @SimeonBrownMP I appreciate this very much. I am often having to jump through hoops to access information and it really does get in the way of getting on with the job. This is well worth looking into.
@ponekeben Totally agree. I'm having a really hard time accessing information. Sometimes might take me weeks or months while LGOIMA time is 20 working days and media response time target is 24 hours.
Heading to the @NZWarriors vs. Dolphins game tonight? 🏉
Just a quick reminder that NZ Civil Defence is testing the Emergency Mobile Alert (EMA) system today, 26 May 2024, between 6-7pm. ⏰

@jono_dw If noise is an issue then we probably shouldn't put red tape in the way of developers replacing old single glazed homes with warm new soundproofed homes
All parties are guilty of this but I don't understand why opposition MPs put forward members bills they know 100% will get voted down at 1st reading.
Why waste an opportunity to work across the house to make real life positive changes for people? At least try.
