@tom_nuttall Zum Schwabentörle is great for local food, beer and/or wine. I am a sucker for local wooden-paneled restaurants. Pretty small so you may have to book.
My claim to fame: I went to school with Julian Darby. OK, he was in the 5th form when I was in the 1st and he wouldn’t know me from Adam, but still. He was the talk of the school back then.
Absolutely delighted for him, he’s Bolton through and through and always has been. #bwfc
I am concerned that this one performance could cause a footballing hangover that could last a while. How long did it take to recover from Stoke? Have we ever? What impact is this going to have on us as a club? End of IE upward trajectory, this is new for all of us #bwfc
@MarcIles You truly are Father Christmas in disguise, Marc. What an early present!
It has the added benefit of me having to go out walking every day to listen to them, which will keep me buff over Christmas (excuse the pun)
@BWFCUSA Ah, good point. Doesn’t look like Ferguson did from the article, not sure about Kendall. I was busy on my ZX Spectrum at the time, so can’t remember!
@BOLTONFMSPORT I’m definitely on Team Good Performance. Many great chances, George first half, Vic and Aaron Collins second half. Could have been 3-0 and cruising at the end without all the excitement. However, no better way to finish a game than a goal with last kick (chest) of the game!
@current_thread@tom_nuttall@maxkrahe Good point. That´s why I´m an economist, not a linguist! I was just wondering whether Germans seeing debt almost universally as a bad thing has anything to do with the negative connotations of the word "Schuld(en)". I personally have no idea.
@tom_nuttall To be fair, a lot of people I talk to in Germany realise the election will be mighty close, but if asked to come down on one side, would rather be optimistic (Harris) than pessimistic (Trump). If I prefer heads to tail, that is what I would call.
@MarcIles As an Englishman living in Germany, both wonderful countries, this is hugely embarrassing. The headline has, of course, already been picked up by the German media. Cue days of me trying to avoid talking football to my German friends.
@tom_nuttall What is the probability of Wagenknecht deciding to enter coalition talks with AfD in Thüringen? I can see a very long-drawn out process of coalition talks going nowhere. In this scenario, would Wagenknecht then “respect the will of the people” by getting rid of the firewall?
@MarcIles I totally agree, Marc. This is a great feature, thanks for doing this. I very much enjoy the different points of view and all of them are balanced and well put. Some talented writers out there.
