@staubio Thanks — did they just make a decision on the alignment? I thought we had moved beyond the ‘knocking down buildings for freeways’ phase of American history.
@staubio@LCLoudmouth Yeah, it’s disappointing to see major investments in redundant infrastructure especially when there are ongoing conversations regarding removing the north loop freeway, which I imagine is a major feeder to the viaduct.
@LCLoudmouth That reminds of of the design of the Kennedy Expressway in downtown Chicago. Lots of on/off ramps in close proximity. I believe they’ve removed a bunch of them now to try and ease congestion.
@LCLoudmouth All good, Wes. I super enjoy looking at the old planning maps of KC that you post from time to time. The alternate futures are fascinating to think about.
Refinishing some 100 year old trim. Check out the ends — they’re coped rather than mitered, and look just about as good as I imagine they did on the day they were made. #homerenovation#woodworking#details https://t.co/u2UKDBf1Re
@LCLoudmouth There’s bulky item pickup roughly twice a month in Jackson County where the city comes to your house and picks up most everything for free (out of pocket). When I see couches dumped in out-of-the-way areas I wonder whether or not people even know that program exists.
Industrial building in North Kansas City. The galvanized panels looked almost brand new. #lookingup#corrugatedmetal#northkansascity @ North Kansas City, Missouri https://t.co/9E2gEUvaQH
As seen in the Home Depot parking lot. Jeep Cherokee convertible with rims. You won’t find this rolling off an assembly line. Might be the only 4-door, 2-seat vehicle I’ve ever seen. #customrides#lessismore#carmods https://t.co/csfNXK8lbV
