What we know in NSW election lead up: Perrottet supports gambling reform. Lib Transport Min David Elliott, former AHA exec, raised Nazi uniform rumour with Premier. Elliott warned against demonising poker machines. Elliott’s son works for gambling tech corp Aristocrat. #auspol 🧵
@GillyMcInnes1@GarthGodsman@sallyrugg Agreed. That's what I'm saying. By all means acknowledge the indigenous people in the Constitution but let's keep The Voice as legislation. That is a lot easier to change once the gap has been closed.
Bloodlines ... ultimately why should your DNA privilege or disadvantage you?
@SenatorThorpe is correct. It should not be about #TheVoice, it should be about #ClosingTheGap. Less creeping sovereignty based on bloodlines and more equality for all.
@AlanJepson15@MichaelVaughan Exactly. CA are choosing to take a stand but not in a big international event, rather in a more minor event. That seems an appropriate way of making the point that women and girls should be able to play cricket too ... and Australia (women) would love to play Afghanistan (women).
@Frank43400052 @LindaBurneyMP @ulurustatement@SBS am conflicted about how to vote on #TheVoice. If it is a step towards #sovereignty based on bloodlines I am still uncomfortable with it. If it is about #ClosingTheGap and is for a finite period until past wrongs are righted and equality achieved then I am inclined to a Yes.

@GillyMcInnes1@GarthGodsman@sallyrugg But isn't this the fundamental issue really?
Are we genuinely trying to put right historic wrongs and achieve equal opportunity for all OR are we trying to entrench a privileged voice for all time based on nothing other than bloodlines?
A Voice is important. But forever?
@rashidkhan_19@CricketAus@BBL@ACBofficials Sorry @rashidkhan but someone who turned his back on the @bbl to go play in South Africa (presumably for more money?) hardly has the high moral ground here. Why not show some support for the women of your own country? Why shouldn't they play cricket too ... and work and study?
