@AnthropicAI Does more interaction really mean less AI autonomy? Shouldn’t we measure human input as % of total output not time? More power drives more engagement but AI does 10x the work. Devs stay in the loop to solve bigger problems not hand holding. METR at 14+hrs doubling fast.
@gregoryblotnick Indeed. My sense is that a handful of hard won scientific explanatory theories, paired with the scientific method, would have immediate compounding effects.
A rare look into the heart of our galaxy.
Hubble’s new infrared 300-light-year mosaic cuts through the dust to reveal star-forming regions swirling around Sagittarius A*, the Milky Way’s supermassive black hole. This is beautiful.

I’ve always found the scepticism towards AI for fundamental scientific research to be utterly absurd. It seems that no matter how steep the trajectory of improvement – let alone how recursive this improvement is – that it’s never quite as good as human reasoning.
🚨 This might be the most mind-bending AI breakthrough yet.
China just built an AI that doesn’t just explain how the universe works it actually understands why.
Most of science is a black box of conclusions. We know the “what,” but the logic that connects everything the “why” is missing. Researchers call it the dark matter of knowledge: the invisible reasoning web linking every idea in existence.
Their solution is unreal.
A Socrates AI Agent that generates 3 million first-principles questions across 200 fields, each one answered by multiple LLMs and cross-checked for logical accuracy.
What it creates is a Long Chain-of-Thought (LCoT) knowledge base—where every concept in science can be traced back to its fundamental truths.
Then they went further.
They built a Brainstorm Search Engine for inverse knowledge discovery.
Instead of asking “What is an Instanton?”, you can explore how it emerges through reasoning paths that connect quantum tunneling, Hawking radiation, and 4D manifolds.
They call it:
“The dark matter of knowledge, finally made visible.”
The project SciencePedia already maps 200K verified scientific entries across physics, math, chemistry, and biology.
It shows 50% fewer hallucinations, denser reasoning than GPT-4, and traceable logic behind every answer.
This isn’t just better search.
It’s the first AI that exposes the hidden logic of science itself.

I rarely comment on this type of thing. Tragically we lost chess grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky – a rare genius. Brilliant player, educator, kind hearted, great sense of humour. Very special person. Sincere condolences to his family/friends. RIP @GmNaroditsky you will be missed.
If you are interested in improving your chess, GM Daniel Naroditsky’s YouTube channel is one of the best I have come across. He is a super strong GM player but importantly his teaching style is absolutely first class. https://t.co/EaGgZgQbON #chess Thank you @GmNaroditsky!
@AskPerplexity I think they are extrapolating too simplistically and making a flawed assumption that future AI are not able to resolve and correct for this challenge, and further it seems to assume that agentic AI researchers can not reason independently. This is an extraordinarily bold claim.
