The First Trillion $ Stablecoin — and It’s Not Tether. Libra’s Back?
- Quick recap
Unless you’re brand new to crypto (or deep inside the Aptos/Sui community), you’ve probably heard of Libra and its wild plans. Back in 2019, Facebook dropped the news: they were launching a new Layer 1 blockchain with their own digital dollar, fully integrated into the Meta ecosystem (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram).
By 2022, under heavy regulatory pressure, Libra was officially shut down. There’s even a post by David Marcus (one of the key people behind it), calling it a "political kill"
https://t.co/J35xHa3plJ
- Why this matters
In the small world of crypto, Tether is the biggest stablecoin issuer. In 2024, the company made around $13 billion in profit (according to official report) — and that’s with a team of just ~50 people (Linkedin). By the end of 2024, they had issued over $140 billion worth of stablecoins. Sounds big, but it’s gonna look tiny soon.
Note: Stablecoin issuers take your real dollars and give you a token in return. You enjoy a slick, easy-to-use wrapper, while they invest your dollars in T-bills and make passive income (Tether’s portfolio is full of these).
Now imagine a new player entering the game — one with a huge user base that just needs a nudge (hi @PetraWallet 🙃) to start using stablecoins. Not some crypto startup, but one of the biggest web2 giants. Add in brand trust, potential for B2B adoption, and — surprise — government support (more on that below). And that’s just the business side, without touching the political power this could bring.
- The Libra links & key connections
Among the early investors in Libra (aka the Libra Association) was Thrive Capital. The guy behind Thrive? Joshua Kushner. His brother Jared is married to Ivanka Trump (yep, the president's daughter) and served as Senior Advisor to President Trump from 2017 to 2021.
- Let’s connect the dots:
• 2017: Trump becomes president. Facebook starts exploring blockchain technology.
• Libra development happens over the next few years.
• 2021: Trump loses to Biden. Libra runs into regulatory walls.
• Project dies. No happy ending… or so it seems. Aptos, Sui and Lightspark are actively developing.
• 2025: Trump again. "Meta Is Looking to Enter Red-Hot Stablecoin Market: Fortune"
- Libra 2.0? Or something else?
Remember Telegram & TON? The project was shut down by regulators, after which Telegram officially abandoned its plans. However, a group of "enthusiasts" continued development, and by 2023, Telegram x TON integration quietly began.
Meta doesn’t need to start from scratch if a working blockchain already exists. They just need to plug into the right one.
You already know where I lean — toward Aptos and Sui. But which one is it? Will it be the one who best fits the Meta logo 💧 or the one who shows results in the area Meta is interested in 🌐?
If this post gains enough interest, I’ll try to dig deeper into why Aptos might be the chosen one. Would also be great to hear from the Sui community on why they believe it could be Sui. Or maybe… it’ll be both?
p.s. Thanks to Aptos СTO @BuzzlamicJihad for writing "study Kushner" under someone's post😉
🔥 Hey @cz_binance@binance@BinanceLabs, remember these concepts?
We sent them as part of a pitch for the Blue Light Corporation in our series Take My Muffin, but unfortunately, our idea went unnoticed.
Not only are these designs visually stunning, but the story behind them had the potential to be truly profound. A missed opportunity for something ideologically grand 😔
What do you think now? Let’s revisit this! 🐉🔥

🤔 Did you know who the official partner of "Take My Muffin" is?
It’s @1inch! 🔥 The ultimate swap platform and the coolest web3-wallet @1inchWallet we all absolutely love. ❤️
Plus, there’s a full brand integration inside the show itself! 🚀

@PrimordialAA@Govind01893945 Do I understand correctly that we have two connected wallets, EVM and APT, but for each wallet there is a separate allocation of ZRO? If so, then it would be logical to sum them up so that some wallets would exceed the minimum amount.
Another report with false positives https://t.co/p8xt46yA2V
@PrimordialAA@LayerZero_Labs@LayerZero_Fndn
His methodology is based on Stargate DAO votes, each of which as we know had a deadline of 3 days. The accounts that performed the transactions that signed the votes were clustered with other wallets that randomly elsewhere on the planet performed exactly the same transactions with a timing of 4 days. LayerZero has 6 million wallets at the time of the snapshot. Don't you admit that voting can be plus minus at the same time, because users are members of different communities, where they are informed about the release of new voting. And here also the scatter in search of 4 days.....
https://t.co/y6Tctjbilx User is willing to undergo even KYS to prove his humanity. She actively voted for STG management proposals to be an active member of this community, also got the roles of staker and pool 1k. You can see she has assets on her wallet in the minutes. For example she restacks ezETH in Mendi for over $1000, holds liquidity in Stargate for over $1000 and has other assets in different networks.

There are a lot of complaints about this report in the discrrd. I've only looked at the ones that were unfair. Here's another example https://t.co/91g7aw5J7p
As you can see, there are false positives. And the methodology is very questionable! So you can't use this cluster, especially other projects can use these lists later. And the real user will get a tag on his real wallet.
2) And this is not an isolated example. Here's the wallet https://t.co/KfJOfoLywV
The user is farming points in Zircuit, Ethena in season two apparently, also filled the pool on Stargate. Sybil wallets are quite different. They don't have thousands of dollars on their balances!
@PrimordialAA@LayerZero_Labs
@PrimordialAA@LayerZero_Labs Another example of a report with false positives https://t.co/Rd1uL5szXF
It is strange that you accepted it at all, because this report does not meet the condition of 20 wallets to be combined into a cluster. The methodology of this report specifies the minimum cluster size of 10 wallets.
Setting EPS to 1 second is also inappropriate in this case. There are 6 million wallets in the protocol, and within one second there can be several transactions unrelated to each other.
1) For example, this cluster has a wallet https://t.co/aCz0ODDvdv. It doesn't look like a sybil. The user stores $10,000 worth of liquidity in different protocols and blockchains. He has restake ETH and USDC in Zircuit, Karak, Reya and other protocols for thousands of dollars. The wallet is more than 3 years old. What kind of sybil is he? It is the wallet of a regular user who got into this cluster.

ScamERA: The Biggest Airdrop SCAM in Crypto I think it's no longer news to anyone that teams distribute tokens to themselves through airdrops. ZkSync has taken this practice further than anyone else

Airdrop failure from @zkSync or where is the decentralization?
Blockchain is a transparent territory. Traces remain, even if someone leaves an airstream for maneuvering.
The @zksync team has made a sensation in the crypto community with the most opaque distribution possible. Some points are simply absurd.

1) 13,000 wallets with 0 tx in the zkSync network received an allocation. And what use are these users to the project if they haven't even come in contact with it? https://t.co/T7Tigfx0FX
GM, Fam!
Before the euphoria of cui wears off, I give you a quick exploration of a cool project:
🎮 Linera (https://t.co/HJRDPEO1I0) is an L1 blockchain protocol designed to provide elastic scaling of web2 to web3. Blah blah blah blah. 👇

Sorry, but today is not about crypto
Today, once again, Russian evil has hit a civilian building with missile attacks. This time in the city of Uman! It is impossible to believe in our time. But it is true. I am very much sorry to the families of the victims.
If you're going to play, you've got to pay. Only in our case, the payment will be our time. ⏳⌛️
Well, here's a project with gameplay similar to Pokemon. Is it cool? Who knows, maybe yes, maybe no. But if you're into gaming...👇
