Incredibly informative conversation with @hrkrshnn and @odysseas_eth
My takeaways:
- Without intervention, data on the internet becomes a free-for-all. The cost to exploit vulnerabilities to access personal data is/has dropped to 0.
- As a result, companies will do 1 of 3 things:
-- 1. Increase security spend so that defensive spend>offensive spend
-- 2. Offload data security responsibilities to 3rd party companies who do it as a service
-- 3. Simply delete the data that they don't want the responsibility of securing.
- Is crypto safe? For the most part, yes, because the economic incentive to protect crypto-assets has been very high for a long time. Coinbase/Fireblocks et are under constant barrage of attempted hackings all the time. Still, continued cyber defense investment is a MUST. Crypto is a head of the curve, but the curve is advancing anyay
- Holy f this is so bullish $VVV. So many companies will want to mimimize their data footprints while also will need to be doing AI inference. Venice sells this as a product.
- Holy f this is so bullish $ZEC. Everyone's data, financial or otherwise, will likely be stolen from the companies that store it. Privacy is so fucking in. Traceable blockchains that can be linked to exposed identities (i.e. Ledger data breach) are so out. The worst case scenario is that everyones personal info is out in the wild, and this includes all your finances and assets. Zcash hides this again. zillions
I'm going live on @Bankless tomorrow with @odysseas_eth and @hrkrshnn to figure out WTF is going on?
How bad is this?
Is it going to get worse?
What happens next?
Is crypto safe?
Is crypto ahead of the curve?

David Hoffman says the internet falling apart is exactly what Ethereum was built for
"I'm watching the internet like crumble"
"Now the environment that it was built for is actually happening"
Iβve heard several OAI people say there are unfixable bugs in hardware that are exploitable by AI models directly speaking machine code so even if we could solve software thatβs not enough. We need defense to move faster than offense if thatβs even possible we may just have a new normal that requires adapting to insecure software (bank transfers require going into a branch and taking a dna test π€£π¬)
Just got finished recording this
A 1hr40min complete masterclass on the @Zcash roadmap
@zkDragon and @ebfull are incredible. I knew a lot about Zcash already, but I underestimated the magnitude of the challenges being overcome by the zcash devs
tl;dr: zillions

@osf_rekt@ebfull@Zcash@zkDragon All good my dude. Bankless has made a lot of people feel a lot of ways about us over the years. Not sure how or why but Iβm sure Iβm plenty responsible too.

JUST IN: UK police arrest 15 y/o boy, seize his devices, & collect his DNA after he posted photo of a local politician edited to look like a rabbit.
There's been a resurgence of coins that I'm labeling '2017-era Bitcoin clones'
$PRL +30% this week, $4.2b FDV
$QTC + 300% this month, $1.8b @ 21m supply
Kind of interesting that 21m hardcapped supply tokens are commanding multi-billion dollar vals
If crypto could just get a moment to fucking breathe, we'd be so much higher
Seems pretty clear that, in a vacuum, crypto goes up
Just we have a new crisis every week that rattles everyone out of their longs
