Claude Code wiped our production database with a Terraform command.
It took down the DataTalksClub course platform and 2.5 years of submissions: homework, projects, and leaderboards.
Automated snapshots were gone too.
In the newsletter, I wrote the full timeline + what I changed so this doesn't happen again.
If you use Terraform (or let agents touch infra), this is a good story for you to read.

BREAKING: 🚨THE CEO OF BITCOIN ROB HAMILTON JOINS SIMPLY BITCOIN 🟥
"Bitcoin is still the best money... All of these foundational principles of making it better money that got us all into it is exactly partly why larger institutions want the exposure too."
"Bitcoin is the means that allow you to live the life that you want to have the freedom, to have the hedge against inflation, to fight against the tyranny of the federal reserve and printing and devaluing of all of our hard earned dollars and money that then gets exported out all around the world."
@bitcoin_bugle@Rob1Ham@YouTube@SimplyBitcoin The Bitcoin CEO will be on the Simply Bitcoin livestream shortly to discuss. But we are not live on YouTube. Watch on Rumble, X, and MySpace.
SLIPSTREAM UPDATE:
It's been over a month since the last multisig transaction was executed using Slipstream's private mempool service. We're happy to see that efforts to execute private mempool transactions out of multisig wallets has stalled, suggesting limited need for what we believe may have been attempts to recover funds in the wake of the @COLDCARDwallet hack.
Given this information, we plan to resume Slipstream's normal fees for service beginning at 9am EST on Tuesday, October 27th.
We're grateful to everyone who helped with recovery efforts during this time — especially the teams at @unchained@AnchorWatch and @Wizardsardine, with special thanks to @PortlandHODL, the creator of Slipstream, for his support 🫡
"The warning gun has been fired. You have to start being responsible for yourself... Bitcoin is worth the fight, freedom is worth the fight. It doesn’t mean it’s gonna be easy."
@Rob1Ham is back on the show. We got into finding 10,000+ vulnerabilities, how AI has changed software forever & the future of Bitcoin security.

AnchorWatch doesn’t purchase coverage, our customers buy insurance directly as I mentioned earlier.
This is a very odd hostile conversation where I’m answering your questions, and you’re getting increasingly frustrated with me.
Happy to hop on a call and walk through your questions
@mikebelshe@BitcoinMagazine@AnchorWatch@TheBlockCo Yes. We can insure multiple customers for a $370M limit *per customer*.
The economics are different than other custodians in that insurance is explicitly paid for instead of it being a pass-through cost baked into their existing custody fees.
