Tesco could pay every worker an extra £10,000 and still make a profit.
British Gas could pay every worker an extra £35,000 and still make a profit.
Shell could pay every worker an extra £300,000 and still make a profit.
It is the billionaires who are ripping you off.
They could announce that the richest 0.00004% of people have 95% of the money and they'd still be ranting on about an immigrant having a better cardboard box than them.
That is genuinely how stupid 20% of the population are.
Minimum wage in 2005 was £5.05 an hour.
A Freddo cost 10p.
One hour of work bought you 50 Freddos.
In 2026, minimum wage is £12.71 and a Freddo is 39p.
One hour of work now buys you just 32 Freddos.
So despite minimum wage more than doubling, your Freddo buying power has fallen by 36%.
If wages had actually kept pace with Freddo inflation, minimum wage would be £19.65 an hour today.
Forget economists. Forget politicians.
The Freddo has just delivered the most depressing cost of living graph you'll ever see.
“GEN Z DOESN’T DRINK”
“GEN Z DOESN’T DATE”
“GEN Z DOESN’T BUY HOUSES”
“GEN Z DOESN’T HAVE KIDS”
“GEN Z DOESN’T SMILE”
Maybe because:
• They graduated into a pandemic
• Job hunted into an AI apocalypse
• Entered the housing market when rates hit 8%
• Watched a world war start before they turned 25
• Got their first paycheck and lost 30% to taxes they’ll never see benefits from
• Student loans kicked in the same month rent doubled
• Were told to “just network” during two years of lockdown
• Grew up on social media designed to make them feel worthless
• Watched billionaires add trillions during COVID while they lost their jobs
• Inherited a planet that’s literally on fire
• Were promised the American Dream and handed the American Bill
But yeah.
It’s the avocado toast.
“Adults can still access social media through age checks like facial recognition, digital IDs, passports and credit cards.”
So there it is - this wasn’t about banning under 16s from social media, this was about giving EVERYONE a digital ID.
