My first sociology conference and my first conference presentation as a mum 🎉 Thank you to @csa_sociology for the opportunity to present with @rubyharringtonn and to @FranklyLess for the support!
We have a 3 month-old and had this family physician (a new practice) for a total of <12 months. I thought @TimHoustonNS was fixing healthcare? I look forward to paying for the privilege of retrieving my own medical records and not having a primary care provider.
New paper! We found no difference in breastmilk feeding intentions by household food insecurity (HFI) status. Achievement of intentions was high for providing any breastmilk, but only 51% for providing only breastmilk, with lower odds among those with HFI #InfantFoodInsecurity
New from our Feeding in the Early Years Study funded by @_researchNS and supported by @SSHRC_CRSH CRC program. Thanks to @JaneDFrancis for leading the work and co-authors Alison Mildon and Val Tarasuk. Food security matters for mothers and infants. https://t.co/ex8zAxgNsk
2️⃣The runner-up in our Top Articles of 2023 Countdown is "Breastfeeding in Canada: predictors of initiation, exclusivity, and continuation from the 2017–2018 Canadian Community Health Survey" by @JaneDFrancis, @MSVU_Halifax, et al. Read it here: https://t.co/vvlTBdFuZ2 #BestOfCSP
@KDBauer1 As frustrating as that was to watch, it was therapeutic to have the @OverDrive1050 guys react the same way as us fans at home in real-time. #ManningCast OverDrive edition for big Leafs, Raps, Jays games in the future?
"It's an injustice not to support mothers to feed their babies." Excellent presentation @JaneDFrancis@FranklyLess on mothers experiencing #foodinsecurity and struggling to their feed babies in Nova Scotia. Food maximization and societal family supports to feed babies needed!
The new Child and Family Poverty Report for Nova Scotia is here! “The widespread relief programs in the early days of the pandemic showed that it is indeed possible to quickly and dramatically reduce child poverty.”
Excited to share our first PINSTEP report! It highlights the first 5 years of research investigating the opportunity to increase access to lactation support through the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program. Read more here: https://t.co/oehE7yxPcF
Curious about how Canadian #breastfeeding practices have changed since 2011/12? Check out our new paper 👇🏻 Disparities continue to exist, which indicate the need for tailored, equitable approaches to breastfeeding support @AcadiaNutrition@ResearchMSVU
Should Herdman have said that about Croatia? No. Did it serve as extra motivation for Croatia? I'm sure it did. But let's not make it into a bigger thing than it really is. It's not why #canMNT lost. They lost to a superior team with more quality & class. No shame in that.

Our newest publication! In a cohort of vulnerable women, early postpartum use of expressed human milk (HM) was associated with cessation of HM feeding before 6 months and non-exclusive HM feeding to 4 & 6 months. Check out more details here: https://t.co/65A3C6JEIM
