Hey Social Studies teachers, I like the The Migration Policy Institute's website a lot for "independent, nonpartisan, analysis of the movement of people worldwide." Their Frequently Requested Statistics page is a good place to start. https://t.co/4nbDaKOB6J #uedu5464Fall2017
@AurielDavis34 And hopefully not just an advancement in technology, but society as well. In other words, not solving our problems by shooting each other anymore...
@TheFakeDrewR And that's coming from a school that is not all that liberal if I remember correctly. More liberal than conservative, but I definitely remember some students who didn't believe in global warming, and I'm guessing probably like guns too. We're there any?
@DanWalter7 Unfortunately we still have a tyrannical government to some degree, but as Sam alluded to, even if we all had assault rifles the Government/military/much bigger weapons would put the smack down in an instant @DanWalter7#uedu5464fall2017
From https://t.co/S7kJlerV6M: For more than a decade, on average 68% of murders are committed by firearms. If we took away the firearms would people just kill each other as much, but with other weapons? Stabbing someone does seem harder #UEDU5464Fall2017
So because more people die from driving cars we shouldn't worry about the 18 mass shootings per year from military assault rifles? Why does any civilian need a military-style assault rifle? Oh, and I can't wait for self-driving cars as well! #UEDU5464Fall2017
@TylerOliver20 No, people do not always make rational decisions according to the recent winner of the Nobel Prize in Econ. I'm still laughing about it! ha ha
Econ EQ1: How accurate are cost/benefit analyses in free market economies at factoring in all of the costs and benefits? #EnvironmentalEcon EQ2: Is capitalism a zero-sum game? #UEDU5464Fall2017
@MarkDoddWhelan Great point. I haven't questioned the source of these standards until now because I have been so worried about fitting them into my LPs. ๐ณ
@HansonJarrod@Kimkim8787 In AP classes specific content and skills are important, but in other classes students should have much more influence on the content IMO.
