Year 4’s incredible Roman soldier sculptures are framed and ready to be installed in the art gallery @Lift_Lea_Forest. The children worked with clay to form the individual soldier parts, before piecing the sections together to produce the whole.
Year 3 children @mgeact have been making screen-prints based on their geography study about mountains. They have combined simple imagery and text to create these outstanding artworks, that individually look amazing, and together even better!

Year 2 children’s beautiful ’wheels and axles’ artwork has been re-presented and re-hung on the walls @Lift_Lea_Forest today. The artwork was created using wet-felting techniques and involved the children leading their learning with colour, shape, pattern and texture decisions.
Year 5 @MontyAcademy have been making wonderful embroidered fabric pharaohs as part of their Ancient Egyptian study. They are now ready to be exhibited in the art gallery and around the school building, housed in these beautiful new display cases, after the half term break.
A fabulous new exhibition has been installed @Lift_Lea_Forest today. Comprising artwork produced by Year’s 3 and 6 children, the exhibition includes painting, drawing and screen printing, inspired by autumn, portraiture and tsunamis!
Year 5 children @NechellsAcademy have completed their textile project. The wonderful machine and hand-stitched artworks have been fixed to wooden mounts and are ready to be installed in the school art gallery and the head teachers office!!
KS2 children have made a sculpture @MontyAcademy to showcase the children’s magnificent poetry. We have called it ‘Poet-Tree’. The first poems are now hanging on leaves from the sculpture, alongside the names of contemporary and historical poets trapped within tree structure.
Year 4 children @mgeact have also been making self portraits this half term. With one session to go, their stunning artwork is almost ready for exhibiting in the school art gallery.
Year 6 children’s beautiful self portraits are complete @Lift_Percy. They are now fixed onto a wooden sheet and ready to be installed in the art gallery and a ‘new’ exhibition space over the next few weeks - exciting!!
Today’s session with Year 5 @NechellsAcademy involved the children hand-sewing directly on top of their brilliant heat-transferred images. Machine embroidery was applied by me, as directed by the young artists. More stitching next week…
Year 5 children @NechellsAcademy have been heat transferring their wonderful abstract ‘slums’ artwork to fabric. The next stage will be involve hand and machine stitching further detail - doors, windows, roofs… exciting stuff!!
Year 6’s wonderful self portraits are almost complete. Today they’ve finished off applying tone to their artwork, and introduced further texture with acrylic paint, printing ink and gold leaf. Next week @Lift_Percy, the children will be preparing their portraits for exhibition.
Year 5 children @MontyAcademy have been heat-transferring their superb ancient Egyptian pharaoh artwork onto fabric in preparation for embellishing with stitch over the coming weeks. The reveal was sooooo exciting! @MissThompsonEd @MrsFNisar
Year 6 children @Lift_Percy are making a series of wonderful self portraits using painting and drawing techniques. We’ll continue next week with further embellishment to the surface of the artwork using luscious metallics applied using collage and printing.
Year 6 children @Lift_Lea_Forest have been painting tsunamis in response to their humanities study ‘fragile earth’. Simplifying photographic images and mixing colour are just two of the things the young artists have explored during the project, so far.
