Honored to be part of @tether's investment portfolio, driving forward a shared vision of bringing real-world crypto adoption through payments.
We have been able to bring thousands of $USDT payments to Europe and look forward to expanding to new regions soon. Proud to pioneer the future of spending crypto from any wallet, anywhere.
Thank you @paoloardoino for believing in our mission.
"The average consumer doesn’t want to learn how to manage seed phrases, navigate decentralized exchanges or pay unpredictable gas fees just to make a transaction. What they do want is a seamless experience – something as familiar as tapping a card...," said @amram_adar, CEO and Co-founder of Oobit.
Mass adoption doesn't happen by accident - it takes a vision. Our CEO is paving the way 👉 https://t.co/eCIcTFtXLt @ceoworld
📊 New data suggests that crypto-linked payment cards are gaining traction in Europe, particularly for low-value, everyday transactions.
According to a recent report from @cex_io, 45% of crypto card payments are under €10 — a category traditionally dominated by cash. Usage trends appear to be aligning closely with those of traditional bank card holders, with crypto users spending on groceries (59%) and dining (19%), in line with European Central Bank benchmarks.
Notably, 40% of crypto card transactions are online, compared to just 21% for traditional cards in the euro area.
Additional insights:
🔹 Average crypto card transaction: €23.70
🔹 Average bank card transaction: €33.60
🔹 Stablecoins account for 73% of crypto card payments
🔹 Crypto card issuance in Europe is up 15% in 2025
Other providers, including @oobit and @cryptocom, report similar trends — suggesting broader adoption of crypto cards for everyday essentials.
However, concerns remain. Barclays recently announced a ban on crypto transactions via Barclaycard, citing consumer protection risks and lack of recourse through UK financial compensation schemes.
As consumer payment habits evolve, crypto-linked cards appear to be carving out a space alongside more traditional options — particularly in the context of growing interest in digital assets.
Mastercard joining the Global Dollar Network is a major step toward stablecoin payments going mainstream. One day at a time, the rails are being built. #justoobit
