It’s only in death that we have already failed. One of my managers got emotional and started saying he’s ashamed that he has failed in the last year, he tried so hard but in the end he doesn’t know what else he could do, I think it’s an overreaction

Today was a lesson in crisis management with 50% of the visas not approved and delaying our trip thus incurring extraordinary expenses. Our travel partner stepped up and gave an extraordinary solution which is extremely rare in our country, why?

Was it their fault? Not exactly, but they manned up and took responsibility. Always find partners that are capable of doing that. And continue working with them for long periods, when you’re in a moment of need, they will be there

Today 2 critical people in my team were not communicating well, one cried while the other just shrugged the shoulder. I had to mediate and bore their hearts to each other. It was worth it when I left I saw them talking happily while their eyes were tearing

Being open and vulnerable is a really hard thing to do. In my team I’ve witnessed grown men cry while talking about their past, maybe it’s a mix of digging deep into raw forgotten wounds, or knowing it’s acceptable to talk about them…

Leaving Bali, my thoughts: with 60% of GDP depending on tourism and focused on Kuta/Legian/Seminyak/Canggu/Ubud , there is so much untapped potential. Yes there are developments but I don’t see a grand master plan for the next 10-20 years.

Bali is such a world class destination, beautiful people and culture, would love to see all these improvements and not see it becoming less and less magical.
