@themattbank I like the idea, but as others maybe not the scores. I shot par over 9 holes from the tips, and +2 in a comp another time. And years later shot two over from ladies back tees with hickory clubs.
I think most people today play way too agressive, and constantly go for hero shots.
@JohnMorton215 Askernish is lovely! Keep it in the fairway.
Think Carnoustie is #1, but it is a tossup with Old Course and Prestwick. I played the restored original 12 holes at Prestwick.
@CarnoustieCad It makes it hard to buy a new set, they don’t make proper 2- irons any more :(
I was lucky enough to find a 1-iron for my Hogan Apex Edge set this summer. And yes, it has wear patterns. Not blades though :/
@PaigeSpiranac 3) As someone put it, Ryan Fox would have hit all four shots of his last hole at Birkdake quicker than Cantlay hits his tee shot. R&A and USPGA should limit time from 40s to 10s. And have a clock. 2 penalty shots each infraction, 3 infractions in a round is immediate DQ.
@PaigeSpiranac 2) Thoose caddie rounds were really valuable. Now it is a one day course, and out on the course you go. No way new golfers get to learn decorum, dignity and the spirit of the game in a one day course.
Then e we have the other side of the coin, people watching your players…
