It is because we are born human that we are guaranteed a good dose of suffering. And chances are, if you or someone you love is not suffering now, they will be within five years, unless you are freakishly lucky.
Tomorrow, maybe more suffocated or less, maybe, maybe differently in the days after that, maybe insane, or maybe also funny, sometimes that’s how I am sometimes. Heartbreak holds space for all that it is.
You know what I thought? When I thought of heartbreak? This poem. That heartbreak can be so many things, so heartbreaking, so varied, so fully itself but also so much else. Today, thinking of my own heartbreak, i feel suffocated.
being religious doesn’t mean you’re a good person. faith without kindness is just performance. beliefs don’t matter if they’re not reflected in empathy, accountability, and how you treat people when no one’s watching. character shows up in actions, not in labels or rituals
Making your life better means adopting a lot of responsibility, and that takes more effort and care than living stupidly in pain and remaining arrogant, deceitful and resentful.
Can you imagine yourself in 10 years if, instead of avoiding the things you know you should do, you actually did them every single day? That’s powerful.
