@HedoniaAnn @OrevaZSN It’s rare that any town has both the desire and enforcement staff to adequately monitor Airbnbs. As a next door neighbor to one of these hotels, I was forced out of my California home due to inadequate enforcement of the ordinance.

In Long Beach, years were spent on implementing such a program with little seriousness about enforcement. Just like the short-term rental ordinance, the city isn’t equipped and could care less about real enforcement as long as they can get a cut. Then the corrupt council people who vote this in will blame any problems on a few “bad actors” then look the other way as problems mount.

@EpochPremium In Long Beach, you can turn your home into a hotel (airbnb) and now a restaurant - and if you live next to this and suffer due to the neighborhood disruption, parking, etc - too bad! the city will paint you as the enemy.
