@RamilyWood@LaInaMinute@kdemoff Judging by KSE the press release stating “The Angels acquisition extends this footprint south into a market…”, pretty safe to say that the plan is to keep them in Anaheim.

Arte Moreno drove a franchise into the toilet and got a record price (and 22 times what he paid for it). Good for him. But that is very different than players, who have to perform to get paid.
Angels' acquisition price (2003): $182.5 million
Angels' sale price (2026): >$3.9 billion
If you still think there are owners that can't afford to spend enough to field a competitive team, you're choosing not to see reality.
@TALKINFRIARS@aNiMeGaMeR0@BillShaikin Or buy out the city under the terms of the Home Run for Anaheim Act to take the Surplus Land Act exemptions and build with full control of the property. Would need to drop LA from the name for that though.
@TALKINFRIARS@aNiMeGaMeR0@BillShaikin The stadium site has all kinds of redevelopment options. He could partner with the Samueli’s OC Vibe project and expand it over to the Big A. Buy out the city outright and figure it out on his own dime (like SoFi).
The Trump-Vance administration is pressuring the National Park Service to surrender land within Yosemite National Park to a private developer.
“If the deal goes through, the Trump administration would be breaking with 150 years of American precedent at the birthplace of the national park system. The federal government has historically strived to expand the crown-jewel national parks, not give up land within them.”
I don’t think you can sufficiently despise this administration. Every day there’s some new way that it is working to carve up and sell off pieces of this country while making life in it worse.
