I think when he announced he planned to retire in January it was hard to take because of how upset he was at having to make that announcement. He now seems to be at peace with whatever happens next and I’m just enjoying seeing him pain free and happy at the moment!
Just watched @andy_murray interview with @SkyNews
I have to say, obviously selfishly I want him to return to tennis but seeing him so relaxed and happy is just the best. If he doesn’t come back to competitive tennis I can live with that seeing him so happy and pain free 💙
Andy Murray is pain-free again! 😃
“I’m a lot happier now because I have no pain in my hip anymore. The rehab has been slow but going pretty well. If it’s possible I’d certainly love to compete again.”
Murray was at @TheQueensClub to announce a new partnership with Castore.
Dear @Andy_Murray, we have read about your hip surgery, hope that you are able to make this walk on to our centre court again in June, but most of all, that you are pain-free very soon. Get well, champ.
*June 2020*
Kim: "Andy, feet off the couch, you've done nothing all day, go to the shops and get some milk."
*An hour later*
Kim: *turns on TV*
Newsreader: "And in a surprise late entry at Wimbledon, Andy Murray has come out of retirement..."
Kim: "...Godammit."
What’s everyone’s opinion? Wait it out and play Wimbledon this year or have the operation and IF it works potentially have another couple of years competing? I know it’s a big IF #AndyMurray
"If I had the operation in the next week or so, it would be unlikely that I would be able to play Wimbledon" - Andy Murray says hip surgery could rule him out of #Wimbledon https://t.co/4MgtjYU0Lj
If Andy Murray comes back next year after they've all tried to retire him, it would be the most Andy Murray thing to have ever Andy Murried. #HereForIt
Controversial but I hope @andy_murray gives the surgery a chance. Seeing him still able to play the way he just did-you’ve got to give it a chance 🤞🏼 Unbelievable performance 💙 #AusOpen#ThankYouAndy
Well this a bit awkward. Andy Murray *hasn't* formally said he's retiring now, but the #AusOpen is playing him a load of farewell messages.
A bit like someone saying they're taking time off for an operation and everyone at work organising a "All the best for your retirement" card
Andy Murray is unsure if he will play again after losing in the opening round of the Australian Open:
"Maybe I'll see you again - I'll do everything possible to try"
"If I want to go again, I'll have to have a big operation
"I'll give it my best shot"
