@Paulderby34@chrisadonnelly Sorry…who are you again?! I notice you haven’t condemned Gavin Robinson for similar actions. You’re probably already typing about DUP/TUV members marching under paramilitary banners? No? Why not? Trot on!
@Darragh_Conway1 Some of the best teaching I’ve witnessed has been built on relationships, trust and an understanding of pupils’ circumstances, often with limited resources. We can debate which budget pays, but poverty doesn’t stop affecting learning at the school gates. I’ll leave it there.
@Darragh_Conway1 Darragh, nobody disputes the importance of school buildings or resources. But a well-equipped classroom means little to a child struggling to engage because of circumstances beyond their control. Raising standards requires more than investment in buildings and equipment.
@Darragh_Conway1 Darragh, the Department of Education uses FSME to analyse GCSE attainment and target funding for social need. It clearly recognises deprivation as an educational issue. We can debate who pays for meals, but separating basic needs from raising standards isn’t so straightforward.
@Darragh_Conway1 Of course, there’s a legitimate debate about whether school meals should be funded through education or wider welfare budgets. But that’s very different from suggesting that tackling food poverty represents misplaced priorities.
@Darragh_Conway1 Education budgets already fund many things that don’t directly involve classroom teaching.SEN provision, safeguarding and pastoral support are just some examples.Their value lies in creating the conditions for learning. Why should addressing food poverty be viewed any differently?
@Darragh_Conway1 Grew up in N. Belfast, working class area, taught there for many years, working mainly pastoral roles with pupils from challenging backgrounds were food poverty was a definite issue. Lead the way…
@JamieBrysonLLB You ok lad? That’s a lot of tweeting about the chief of your police force. You hailed Sinn Féin’s failure to deliver on stopping marches, the A5 and bilingual signs. There’s only one defeat for you left…
@JonBurrowsMLA Jon, like Carla, Bryson, Alistair et al, who have been hammering those three wee letters for the last week or two were not as keen on the law being applied to loyalist racists, bonfire builders and other forms of sectarian hatred around July time. We see you Jon
@MrRCain2@mooreholmes24@irelandresource@chrisadonnelly@PaddyShanks Because he can’t!! When someone comforts his bullsh1t with facts he runs away or ignores the points made.
If only Moore had used Ai to help write his poems, he mightn’t have looked even more foolish than he already did!
