@NCyotee I think it's less about pacifism (everyone knows you guys love frontier justice), and more about general incompetence due to systematic disorganisation.
@GtheRokka@sola_chad Native tribes had been raiding and enslaving each other for centuries before the "colonizers" ever stepped foot in America. Typical practice across most of the country was to murder every man the next tribe over, sexually enslave the women+girls, and raise their boys as fodder.
@rileyman1080@_JackPBrown no, dude
look dude I can't dumb it down any further, just read your post and then read mine and keep doing it until it comes to you
@_JackPBrown Wow I hate this
So instead of a man who overcomes great hardship through relentless struggle, Guts is just another Japanese protagonist who was simply born special. Amazing
@rileyman1080@_JackPBrown "This has been a thing the whole time."
Yes, but if you read the post you'd see they've recontextualised his persistence not as a great effort on his part but as a natural consequence of his special birth. He doesn't fight fate, he's just uniquely immune to it. It fucking sucks.
@JoePaulGians@TyrantsMuse I wonder what evolutionary pathway had them figuring out what a 'projectile' is and why they need to react to one? In order to have this kind of response they would have needed animals throwing rocks at them for hundreds of thousands of years, I just can't imagine it.
@DudeCSir@NDRepublicans@teacherinRI The biggest electric car manufacturer which has invested the most into growing the technology and were the first to make them commercially viable, pretty much kickstarting the industry by themselves, has nothing to do with electric cars in general?
@DudeCSir@NDRepublicans@teacherinRI Electric cars don't improve my life? Sweet, can I get a refund on all the money that's gone into green energy and technology then? Seeing as though helping the environment isn't to my benefit any more
@HaterOfFeds@ConQrM_PL All this would do is reduce his own control of the company and financially ruin the workers who already invested in his companies by devaluing the stock? Not to mention kill future growth by trading away borrowing collateral, meaning employing and paying less people long term
@HaterOfFeds@ConQrM_PL Make them all millionaires with what money? He owns factories & machines worth a trillion dollars, not liquid cash
Is he going to give everyone 3% of a lathe as a bonus? Or 14% of the bearings of an assembly belt? Or should he just fire everyone & sell off his assets to pay them?
@MadHermit95@_JackPBrown All it means instead of "just being a man fighting against causality ", it's instead "he defies causality simply by existing" - recontextualizing his struggle not as a great effort on his part, but as a natural predisposition due to his unique birth. It fucking sucks.
@MadHermit95@_JackPBrown Nothing in that post implied that Guts being born a quasi-astral being gave him any disadvantage beyond the actual circumstances of his upbringing (which we already knew about).
