@woodboroughpark So well deserved John..... you have done so, so much for the farmed environment on your farm and also hosted a huge number of visitors to the CSF SFI hub events.
@woodboroughpark Lots to discuss and share about SFI and how to get the most from it environmentally and financially. Thanks to John and Cathy for hosting us all again.
After a break of 6 months, the East Midlands CSF SFI Arable Hub returns to the farm on 03/09 for one final time with @andyarable leading the discussion. It doesn’t all look like this, so come along to find out what works and what doesn’t (for us). Please DM for booking details
@CharlesAnyan@Keir_Starmer#Harvest25 was unfortunately destined to be poor when rainfall during March, April, May and June only totalled 60mm in our area. Be thankful you don't farm sandy soils and keep looking for Julie's fortune!!
@JoeWStanley A step in the right direction and congratulations to the NFU for the threat of legal action forcing DEFRA to act. Unfortunately many of those affected were working on SFI agreements worth many multiples of the £9,300 annual limit.....
John was inspirational, his enthusiasm for agriculture and for finding better ways of growing crops never left him. A sad loss for everyone who knew him.
Such sad news. John Clark (pictured in wheelchair) died on Tuesday. He was an absolute icon, stalwart and pillar of Notts farming for his entire career and will be known to many. This photo was taken on Monday, when until the very last he was helping lobby @_RobbieMoore
@NeddyFlanders11@JoeWStanley How can 6 weeks warning of closure to allow submission, be instantly removed with no warning?? This has got to be challenged by the industry
@MikeNeaverson Is the 6 week notice period that suddenly disappeared possible to challenge. Would be interesting to know how many applications had been created but not submitted #sfi#rpa
@wessexagronomy @Weaving_Mach Not always pretty to look at. but seed depth generally good and very few blocked coulters resulting in well established crops considering the conditions

Doing some sums before writing to MPs
28 agronomy clients
26 are "family farms" ie they provide a living for a family.
3 are tenants, the rest are owned by the family.
On my rough calcs every single one of them would have an IH tax bill to pay under the new rules
@louisearable @wessexagronomy We've changed from menu of the day with SFI 23 to full a la carte with the new Combined Offer and there's a huge choice of options available, but it takes time and effort to work through which for many is limited at present. It is by far the best environmental scheme we have had.
