@seledreams_dev@funnyToasty The majority of rpg maker is just Javascript and json files. So It's a game "engine" you can rewrite in the same way my push mower is technically an engine I can rebuild in an hour. It's so minimal, you are paying more for the editor and license to sell your games than anything.
@funnyToasty I've been making some fun plugins and tools with it. The key is acquiring/making your own quality plugins that enable new systems. Pixel movement and pixel specific collision are not native features, but I made my own for it and an app to draw custom collision paths for it.
@agmethod75@ManaByte My brain happens to be professionally informed on this subject, but sure, tell me what I do or don't know. You pay for premium so why don't you ask grok how much of the federal government is covered under CJIS. Anything covered by it can get you prison for this kind of thing.
@agmethod75@ManaByte If a federal employee installed one of these into a computer they would potentially be looking at prison time. You people seem to think this is just a harmless tool. If I bought a box that let me unlock your car, you'd call that what it is. This is that for protected software.
@ManaByte I'm happy to be corrected, but I believe there's already precedent in the US from a Bungee case that said something to the effect of "your computer becomes part of OUR system when you choose to access OUR game." Not a fan of that technicality myself, but it is my choice to play.
@AlmaMaito I have to ask, did you make the cardinal corporate sin of not running this by your warehouse manager first (Assuming its a company sized enough to have departmental managers)? If you did run it by them and they didnt say "let me propose this for you" then they failed you GREATLY.
@MadamSavvy This game has been a Skyrim-level evergreen experience for me since it was in alpha. I don't know how it never gets old, I just see other people's scenarios online and realize "yeah, that'll be fun to try"
@AyakaMods I say this as somebody working in MZ: removing rpg maker as a tag is good and will make people have to read into a game instead of assuming theyre engine asset flips. Guaranteed, that tag was used more as a warning sign by customers than it was as a descriptor by developers.
I've spent just a couple hours in Codex today, and it's built me a character generator with more functionality for the original assets and more forgiveness for user owned assets than the one that ships with RPG Maker MZ. It took 2% of a 5 hour rate limit to make a usable build.
@highmane_ffxiv@Asmongold@BluSatire A moral victory is not the same as an actual victory. Years of ceding ground by taking the moral high ground has led to where we are today, with the other side having just as much if not more influence than they had before. Eventually you have to stop hurting yourself to heal.
@pureMetatron Immediately accusing them of something as equally/more preposterous/horrendous is often a good way to catch a person off guard in any scenario, then acknowledge the principle yourself, demand a cease to baseless accusations, and make them start over. Demand civility or disengage.
@Charlie4Change@whyy I think some folks in Frederick County, VA have discovered you and might benefit from your expertise on this issue. Not sure who you could contact but your "we stopped it and we're getting a park" was recently shared in community FB groups as an example of what could be achieved.
@JohnFDahmen@DelegateCallsen Unfortunately a century old precedent prevents SCoVA from stopping a vote on this type of thing, they can only rule on it once it is decided on. The court set that limit on itself, which I hope now we all can see it only serves as a forced procrastination of their responsibility.
@Fritschner In this case every vote is a wash, and they can bring it again in a cycle with the same voting process remaining unaffected. Without potential for a legal challenge trying to invalidate just "some" of the votes on the grounds that an election is only the last day of voting.
@Fritschner Do you understand that semantics is actually really important in the context of law? Its actually REALLY important, and if they decided to say election day here is all that matters then they would also be giving a future court context or power to invalidate early voting ballots.
