@victoriapal2 War of the Worlds mentioned how people don't think logically when they are scared. Survival first- facts later. #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@Lperez1893 haha me too. I loved the lady who had a scotch so she she could die with a smile.. and then she had a second one XD #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@hist_Psci_major I'm glad someone wrote about Game of Thrones. I was considering it but chose something more historical. #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@faby210 Agreed. Even if history seems pointless to some people, it should still look like a fun subject. Media helps do that #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@RuthlessTiger92 That's something I thought as well when I was watching the documentary! There are many things people fear. #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@victoriapal2 The same thing happened to me. This was a good experience to have before the due date because it helps polish. #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@christiana018 @RuthlessTiger92 @victoriapal2 Exactly! You need a single cause that'll unite people. If not it is too generic. #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@licha_106 Agreed. It's important to have different perspectives because that's the only way to develop an informed opinion #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

I enjoyed learning about everyone's topics. Everyone had their own approach and brought up many interesting ideas. #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@RuthlessTiger92 I was too! We actually had a very interesting discussion when we met to prepare for the presentation. #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@NEW_T0_THIS Agreed. The real history also helps people make sound decisions when dealing with consequences from the past. #DrBhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@victoriapal2 Although I understand the veteran's dilemma. The historian's perspective is more useful in preventing more war. #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@christiana018 That's interesting! It's great to see that we aren't as backwards as we thought. Woohoo for Harriet Tubman too! #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@RuthlessTiger92 I see MacMillan's point, but I also think that blaming people for what happened long ago is counterproductive #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@victoriapal2 It sounds awful! What's worse is that history is probably the subject most affected by nationalistic models #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@victoriapal2 Exactly! Bellesiles should have thought of the position he put people in by taking advantage of their trust #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

@RuthlessTiger92 So was I! He abused his authority as a professional historian to demean the valid criticism of others #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

Bellesiles' actions affected those around him who were responsible for reviewing his work as well as the profession. #drbhist4310

[Andres Bustamante @andybustamant3]

We cannot solely rely on the reputation of the author to determine whether or not a source is a reliable. #DrBhist4310

Hoffer echoes what Jan Jarboe Russel mentioned last week, always keep detailed and organized records of your research. #DrBhist4310
