Happy Pride Month 2026 🌈
At the Met Office, we’re proud to be an inclusive employer where everyone should feel able to be themselves at work. Diversity strengthens our people, our work and the communities we serve. Allyship matters, and we all have a role in helping create a culture of belonging.
Wishing our LGBTQ+ colleagues and wider community a happy Pride Month.
Update (3): Teams remain on site and are continuing to make good progress in removing water from the track.

Following the progress made during this evening, we anticipate being in a position to safely re-open the line this morning, Thursday 4 June, with passenger services expected to resume as normal between Shepperton and Fulwell, following the completion of the necessary safety checks.
We would like to apologise to passengers for the disruption experienced since Tuesday 2 June.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and are working hard to ensure this does not happen again.
Henry Nowak’s family have lost their son and brother in the most appalling circumstances.
Nigel Farage is exploiting this tragedy to create grievance and division.
It’s completely unforgivable.
@SW_Help Still no Shepperton trains. So, what is it this time? Boards talk about flooding in the Fulwell tunnel. SWR employee earlier talked about a fire disabling the pump. Either way, yesterday disruption until end of day, same again now. Exactly what the hell is happening?
The M4 Motorway to Heathrow has been closed for five hours so far because of an accident. The Tube to LHR is also shut down today because of a strike. How much is this going to cost the UK economy?
Other countries prioritize reopening highways in 90 minutes or less and prioritize resolving industrial disputes on critical infrastructure quickly. The tube strikes have been pulsing on and off for years.
The country needs to pick itself up and re-establish solid, good norms. Shutting down all major access to the country's biggest airport for the day is just not acceptable. It's (part of) the road to ruin.
Today is now the hottest day in May on record for both England and Wales with Kew Gardens provisionally reaching 35.1°C and Cardiff Bute Park reaching 32.9°C 🌡️
Growing up in the online world: a national consultation
Closing date today midnight
Just a reminder - if you haven’t responded to the online consultation on social media and young people, you can do a submission by midnight tonight.
It only takes a few minutes.
Keeping children safe in the digital world is essential, and it is something in which we all have a role.
You can find the consultation here on the Governments website: https://t.co/oNjMWIaJjP
People march for many reasons. But those leading today’s march hate Britain. Hate our diverse country. Hate even more the fact that far right, bot fuelled social media clicks are not enough to overcome the reality of a decent country that knows a racist grifter when they see one
I’ll always champion peaceful protest. But the Unite the Kingdom march organisers are peddling hatred and division.
We’ve already blocked visas for far-right agitators who want to come here to spew their extremist views.
They don't speak for the decent, fair, respectful Britain I know.

Your vote is precious. Today millions of people across Wales, Scotland and England are voting in the hope that their choice will improve their lives. I hope it will.
Politicians are servants of the people. Today they are asking for your vote; it grants power and removes it.
Use it and remind them never to take you for granted.
Remember to bring your photo ID to vote at a polling station, including acting as someone’s proxy! If you arrive without an accepted form of ID, you’ll be asked to come back with one that is.

I'm proud to call for wealth taxes.
I'm proud of our plan to lower bills. I'm proud to be the only Jewish leader of a major political party.
I'm proud to stand against the genocide.
I'm proud that we're on the cusp of something amazing - and we will keep on growing.
