@neilmungeam@DAaronovitch That not what happened though is it, they were presented with a number of people claiming a racially aggregate assault and poor Henry who couldn't really give his side of things.
@Hossylass@NigelBromley1 You make CA sound like pay, it isn't. Like UC, JSA, SP etc it's an income replacement benefit. Most folk on CA are receiving low level wages or benefits and so probably aren't taxed but someone with a decent private pension might get CA and get taxed
@fergustp@Hossylass@NigelBromley1 They are called contributions based benefits but you don't financially contribute as such , rather you qualify through national insurance credits
@Mitch17334152@James_Hawke1 If you want to play you need to be correct. Gravity is an observable fact, the theory explains why it exists and how it operates. Buoyancy requires gravity to explain why stuff floats, the maths ensures your big ship floats rather than sinks
@barneykins182@MugglestoneIan@Jenny_1884 It's one of a handful of contribution based benefits, meaning it is dependent on NI payments, also see job seekers allowance and employment support allowance. They, and carers allowance are all taxable benefits
