Sadiq Khan was President of the Fabian Society. Keir Starmer is still a member.
Andy Burnham has written for them.
Never heard of the Fabian Society? That's exactly how they like it.
Here's what they say on their OWN website. โEvery Labour prime minister has been a Fabian.โ Their words. Not mine.
Blair. Brown. Corbyn. Starmer. Now Burnham. More than half the current Cabinet. 141 sitting MPs, a number they boast about themselves. Starmer even wrote their 2021 pamphlet, The Road Ahead, his whole governing blueprint, handed to him by them.
Their coat of arms is a WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING. They chose that themselves.
Their method has a name too. Permeation. Change so slow and so quiet you never notice it happening. Until one day you look up and the country looks nothing like the one you grew up in.
They don't stand for election. They don't appear on any ballot you've ever seen. They write the policy before the minister reads it. Then they hand it to whoever's face is at the front.
The face changes. The machine never does.
Now watch what just happened this week.
Starmer, on his way out the door, handed Sadiq Khan a permanent seat in the House of Lords. For life. No vote. No election. Khan ran this organisation as its President. He's still one of their vice presidents today. Now he gets to shape your laws forever.
There is NO LAW stopping a Lord becoming Prime Minister. Alec Douglas-Home did it in 1963. Khan could hand back the peerage tomorrow, win a by-election, and go for the top job.
Starmer thought he was being clever. He handed his most dangerous rival a platform and a route to Number 10.
When Starmer tried to block Burnham's path, 8 votes to 1, Khan publicly backed Burnham. One of them fighting the other. Both of them Fabians. Whoever won, the machine won.
Then there's Burnham himself. He ran for leader twice. Lost both times. The public never once chose him for anything bigger than Manchester. Seat in June. Downing Street by July.
Not elected. INSTALLED.
Blair then Corbyn then Starmer then suddenly Farage when Reform surged. Four men. Four directions. He turned to face every one the moment it started winning.
That's not conviction. That's a WEATHER VANE with a salary.
He's the face on the front.
Behind him sits the real machine. The Fabian Society, writing the ideas. The permanent civil service, unelected, unmovable, running the country long after the face at the front has gone. Officials who were here before Starmer, before the Tories, and will be here long after Reform has had its turn.
They don't stand for election. You can't vote them out. You never voted them in.
The Fabians shape the thinking. The civil service holds the levers. Burnham just reads the lines.
142 years. Same organisation. Same civil service. Same machine.
Different face and not one person in this country ever voted for any of it.
@Banksycat But who are actually the top dogs of the Fabian society? The Labour MPs are just the pawns, who is behind them pulling the strings? Anyone know for sure?
@RichardGCorbett 80%of young people, don't know their arse from their elbow, and have been radicalised at school/Uni, but I'm guessing that stat isn't even true
