Palestine Action targeted Trump's Turnberry golf course on 8 March 2025. Trump then called them "terrorists", while Starmer briefed the US president on "developments" in the case.

Starmer went on to proscribe Palestine Action, and the activists involved in the Turnberry incident now face being tried with a "terrorism connection".

I requested information on mentions of "Palestine Action" in the Trump-Starmer phone calls. The Cabinet Office refused to confirm or deny whether the information was held, citing implications for "international relations".

Over a year after the initial request, and one day after Trump designated Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation, the Information Commissioner's Office upheld the Cabinet Office's decision to neither confirm nor deny.
