19 trophies in 10 years at City. Impressive. Genuinely. Nobody is taking that away.

But let’s put some context around those numbers before the statues get commissioned.

Most managers are forced to solve problems. Pep simply replaced them.

Now compare that to Sir Alex Ferguson.

Sir Alex won 13 Premier League titles, 2 Champions Leagues and 5 FA Cups with a club he built from the ground up. He developed young players, rebuilt multiple generations and dominated English football for 27 years, not 10.

He did it through the Eric Cantona years, the Roy Keane years, the Cristiano Ronaldo years and the Ryan Giggs years. Different squads. Different eras. Same outcome.

For those who still haven’t fully grasped how elite Bruno Fernandez is…

Bruno officially became only the THIRD player in Manchester United history to record 100+ goals and 100+ assists.

He did it in 318 games.

For context:
Messi did it in 319 games for Barcelona.
Ronaldo did it in 325 games for Real Madrid.

Now pause and think about the environments those two operated in.

Messi had Xavi, Iniesta, Eto’o, Henry.

Ronaldo had Benzema, Bale, Di María, Kaká.

No superteam.
No luxury setup.

At some point, people need to stop debating whether Bruno Fernandes is elite.

- Heimir decides he doesn’t know enough about the players so doesn’t pick squad/team or do all the press conferences

- 4 goals conceded
- No clear structure on pitch
- Facing Nations League relegation
- Can only buy tickets in three-match bundles

Meanwhile, the League of Ireland champions get just over €100k for winning it. They also rely on European revenue where games don’t even get shown on Irish TV. Only country in Europe that happens in.

It’s no exaggeration to say that the FAI have well and truly failed Irish football.

David de Gea - Left the club
Aaron Wan-Bissaka - Been constantly injured
Raphael Varane - Constantly on the edge of injury
Lisandro Martinez - Has been injured for most of the season, and wasn't fully fit before then.
Luke Shaw - Has been constantly injured, and has had to play out of position
Casemiro - Been out injured a while, and struggled first few games
Christian Eriksen - Been injured a while, is 2nd choice behind Mount, who is also injured
Bruno Fernandes - Is just Bruno, he will constantly be available
Antony - Has had a lot of off-field issues, which meant he took a short break
Anthony Martial - Has spent half the season injured
Marcus Rashford - Is in horrible form and has been struggling with availability issues.

Yet people wonder why we are struggling this season, and why we've seemingly gone backwards...
