Day 0 of building in public to scale to $2k MRR💸 and 1000+ Followers 🫂!

So I gave my friend $2500💰.

I’ve had a lot of ups and downs in my career.

Tried different paths. Some wins. A lot of volatility.
And I realized something:
I’ve been trying to trade my way to freedom instead of build my way there.

I work in marketing. I know how to grow things.
But I’ve never truly built something from zero and owned it.

So I Venmo’d my friend $2500.
If I don’t ship an app soon, he keeps it.

This is Day 0 of building an app with all vibe code tools such as @cursor_ai @claudeai @rork (all feels overwhelming for a not too technical dev like me 😅), etc... to retire myself from my 9–5 corporate job, starting with $2k MRR.

No more “I’ll work on it later.” No more consuming. Only building and marketing. Mamba mentality♾.️

Day 11 of building in public to $2k MRR ⚔️
Today was mostly cleanup + making the app actually work.
• Fixed the camera → journal save flow
• Started gating AI scans behind daily limits
• Double checked the subscription logic
• Making sure the AI analyzer will actually return results (not just a placeholder)
Trying to keep the MVP simple so I can finally ship this thing to the App Store.
Lowkey the hardest part isn’t building…
…it’s not adding 50 more features 😭

Day 10 of building an AI skincare app in public ⚔️

@rork saved the day with bug fixes!

Today was a big one.
Glowy now has:
✨ First Glow Scan onboarding gate
📸 Unlimited photo skin journal
🤖 1 free AI skin analysis per day
🔓 Premium unlocks unlimited scans + insights
Also removed fake scan scores so everything is real now.
And the blob is officially the app mascot.
This is starting to feel legit!!

Also, did my first class with AI Squads runned with @startupsepehr! This is me in a 1 on 1 mentorship w him on building apps with AI. Highly recommend this program (its FREE!)

Day 8 of building in public to $2k MRR ⚔️

Not gonna lie… today was chaotic 😭

Tried to lock in on an AR skin care app! Kept tweaking ideas, thinking about scalability, subscriptions, all that.

But my cats had other plans 😭 (@rork
yall are too famous, its attracting my pets)

Every time I opened my laptop one of them was walking across the keyboard or sitting on it like they pay rent.

Lowkey made me think again about building something around cats because clearly they run my life anyway.

Still figuring out what’s actually scalable vs just cool. But right now I'm starting a Skincare app called Glowy (subject to change later!)

But we move. Locking in (when the cats allow it). 🐈💻
