The Google result is correct, Stellar itself is not Proof-of-Stake and has no native $XLM staking.
That doesn’t mean staking features can’t exist. Any platform or app built on Stellar can implement its own staking (or yield) system and fund the rewards however it wants, from its own tokenomics, fees, liquidity incentives, etc.
Those rewards come from the platform, not from the Stellar protocol.
So the absence of native staking has zero impact on whether application-layer staking products can be built.
Feeling generous to start the new year, so we loaded up a fresh wallet and decided to give it away.
