@thomasmanship @TomMorgan131 Dental is regulated, in that the government decides the price - and thus the reimbursement - much like ENCTS. It's frustrating to see the argument framed as the tired old "regulation vs deregulation"; i.e. politics, not economics. Industry and regional nuance is overlooked.

@w55082747 @JoRigby_Balham Your statement would be true if this was the only such fatality to ever occur. Sadly, these events happen every day. On UK roads alone, 1,600 die and 27,000 are seriously injured each year. Trying to stop preventable killing and maiming is not "wittering".

@StuartBDonovan @GregVann Yes, trams were great and I love the Tramway Museum at Ferny Grove. There's a lot to be said for the flexibility of buses though - difficult to divert a tram for road/utility works! Brisbane could make a good case for having both again.

@Veritasliberal @QuercusMax @jameswarfe @GregVann You CAN have a truck. The F-150/Ram etc are just mostly unnecessary. Also: behold the Suzuki Carry! No swimming pool-sized bonnet in front of you, adequate power and maximum practicality. You don't need anything near 300kW. Most buses (10t+) bomb around all day with half that.

@GregVann You can add: highly wasteful, in an era when transport is some of the lowest-hanging fruit available to reduce consumption of little or no value. The bus understands - shame its backside doesn't.

@build_beaut I'm curious - why put the tree line on the left of the path, when it could be on the right between the road and pavement? It would help improve the waking environment, and at least attempt to make the best of a bad situation.

@HarryHamishGray This just makes me sad. The "bin needs to be emptied more" defence is nonsense. If there were no bin at all, would it then be OK to litter? If not, then why would a full bin be an excuse? It's disgraceful.

@Jonathon_L_ People can be awful. Aside from being a huge responsibility requiring sustained skill and concentration for many hours on end, it brings massive benefit to society as a whole. Judging someone's level of intellect based on their job is just plain ignorant.
