Reform isn't just a party - it's a business empire with unprecedented financial links to crypto and media.
To many, this is fine: a new party with a new power base.
To others, it's illiberal democracy in the making.
At very least, we need the debate:-

Jenrick has either plagiarised Geoffrey Howe’s famous resignation speech of 1990 or - more likely - he thinks of *his* resignation as an equally significant moment in Conservative lore.

Pathetic performative cowardice. I mean, it's not even a workable lie. A better one would be to pretend it's only the suburbs which are inhabitable, while the centre is lawless. Which obviously wouldn't be true, either, but at least has some remote connection to the actual areas where crime has been going up and down.
Instead they peddle this mad fiction that you can't walk the streets of London after 6pm, like it was 1980s Johannesburg or whatever, when they must KNOW that literally millions of people do this every day and our violent crime statistics have almost never been lower.
Honestly, the new willingness of politicians and pundits on the British right to peddle these mad and blatant lies about their own city, which they see outside their own bloody windows, entirely to curry favour with their American counterparts - who at least have the defence of ignorance - is probably the most contemptible political development of my lifetime.
I actually wouldn't be surprised if they WERE scared to leave the house, but only for fear of people laughing in their faces. What a joke these people are.
