SURETIES NEEDED!
Ugandans demonstrating in the #FreeEronKiiza protests have been arrested. If you are in Kampala, have an identity card and LC1 letter, please stand surety for our comrades.
Just learnt of the conviction and sentence of Dr. @kizzabesigye1's lawyer @kiizaeron to nine months in detention for contempt of the military court! Most unfortunate! His only crime was insisting on doing his duty as an advocate to represent his clients, after the military blocked him. Eron has been vocal in and outside this illegal court, condemning its unconstitutional conduct. It is clear that he is being punished for his strong stance against its criminality. As the situation in our country continues to worsen, WE THE PEOPLE OF UGANDA must work together, using all possible means to put this to an end.

The level of impatience on Ugandan roads makes you wonder why Ugandans have been so patient with Museveni for all these years. Like, everyone else is rushing, overtaking, bypassing etc…

In keeping up with our tradition, we spent the day with the children of our comrades who are deceased, those who are in detention, those who were forcefully disappeared and those who have been injured through torture. We hosted 100 children and their parents at One Love Beach Busabala for a Christmas and end of year party. We shared a meal with them, hosted them to different games and gave them some financial and logistical support to enable them go through the festive season. Although we can never replace the love their parents used to give them before the state murdered, disappeared, detained or tortured them, we believe that the little we can do we should always do to bring a smile on their faces. They're grateful for your prayers and support throughout the years. I encourage all of us to continue supporting these families, well aware that any of us could have been one of them. As we do all this, we must continue our push for justice and accountability for the crimes that have resulted into this state of affairs!
Today (27th June 2024), Roke Telkom and @USAID Uganda have launched a new telecommunications site in Yumbe, Uganda, as part of our mission to expand internet access in underserved rural areas.
This initiative will significantly reduce internet costs, making it more affordable for individuals and businesses. The new infrastructure will also support our RokeSpot solution, providing low-cost Wi-Fi via hotspots and enhancing connectivity for Hello World's digital hubs.
These efforts will empower marginalized communities by offering access to essential digital tools, training, and opportunities, ultimately bridging the digital divide and fostering a more inclusive digital economy.
We are dedicated to transforming lives and helping all Ugandans participate in the digital era.
