Starmer is gone. Good riddance, and close the door behind you. But what followed should trouble anyone who still cares about democracy.

After Labour’s disastrous local elections, we were told there would be a leadership contest. Contenders began jockeying for position. Then Labour manufactured a by-election to parachute Andy Burnham into Westminster.

Even then, we were told it was merely the route into a proper contest. Funny how the other contenders stood down the moment Burnham was elected.

Now he walks into No 10 uncontested. No hustings. No public debate. No detailed plan for change. More than 400 Labour MPs sit in Parliament, yet the party had to bring in the Mayor of Manchester because none of them had the confidence or support to lead the country. That is an indictment in itself.

Burnham keeps promising change, but change from what, and towards what? A politician cannot be held to promises he has never clearly made.

This is a coronation without scrutiny. Why are we simply standing back and watching it happen?

More than 400 Labour MPs, yet the party had to manufacture a by-election and bring in Andy Burnham. What does that say about the parliamentary Labour Party?

In June 2023 he explicitly ruled out ever indulging in a resignation honours list (BBC Radio 4 Today).
Today he’s marked his resignation with 21 peerages, overwhelmingly public-sector/legal jobsworths. Barely a single wealth creator among them.
Classic line up of the New Establishment which has run the country under Labour and Tory governments for the past three decades and is now firmly in control. Largely (if not entirely) with the following characteristics:
*Career almost entirely in public sector, often taking salaries from several sinecures at once as they work up the greasy taxpayer-funded pole.
*Associated with various ‘right-on’ causes.
*Largely middle class, London chattering class, Oxbridge well represented (of course).
*Fashionable left but not too left. Good mainstream Labour links.
Thus is the antediluvian House of Lords perpetuated by the Left as well as the Right as a comfortable state-funded retirement home for the well-connected ‘good and great’ past their sell-by date — when it should simply be abolished.

The official Key Stage 2 results do NOT show that reading, writing, spelling, punctuation, grammar, maths and science have “all improved”.

Reading - unchanged.
Science- unchanged
Maths- up 1% point
Writing -up 1% point
Grammar, punctuation and spelling - up 1% point

Only 63% of children met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths combined, up from 62% but still below the 65% before the pandemic. And attainment in every subject except reading remains below pre Covid levels.

Also ... these are Year 6 children who started primary school in 2019. You arrived in July 2024, after most of their primary education had already taken place. so er...

Since 2014, Dale Vince has donated £6 million to the Labour Party. Not £1.5 million. The earlier figures were incomplete. The real total is £6 million.

Direct donations to Keir Starmer. Direct donations to Angela Rayner. The man who told the Guardian "I do want to influence policy but not by buying access" while writing cheques that clear.

THE RETURN ON INVESTMENT

In the year ending April 2023 alone, Green Britain Group, Vince's parent company received £123 million in "government grants." This is not total over years. This is one year. £123 million.

Since 2020, Ecotricity has received £3.55 million in contracts from City Hall to supply power to Sadiq Khan's operations. Trafalgar Square. City Hall. The flagships.

The maths: Donate £6 million. Receive £123 million plus £3.55 million. A 2,000% return in a single year.

THE HAMAS INCIDENT

October 7, 2023: Hamas murders, rapes, kidnaps Israelis.

October 9, 2023: Two days later, Dale Vince goes on Times Radio. Asked about Hamas, he says: "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter."

Angela Rayner, Labour Deputy Leader, calls his comments "appalling." Says he should "reflect" on them.

A Tory minister demands Labour return the £6 million.

Vince sues Richard Tice for defamation, claiming Tice falsely said he supported Hamas. Vince loses the case. The "freedom fighter" comment is real. It is on tape. It is indefensible.

THE PALESTINIAN FLAGS

At Forest Green Rovers, the football club Vince owns, the Palestinian flag flies. Giant flag at Ecotricity HQ in Stroud. He refuses to remove them despite planning complaints, sponsor withdrawals, and fan backlash.

He compares Palestine to Ukraine. Says they have "all the same ingredients." Says Israelis shouldn't feel threatened by the flag. This from a man who called Hamas terrorists "freedom fighters."

THE ANTISEMITISM CONTROVERSY

December 2025: Following the Bondi Beach massacre, Vince claims the "biggest single cause" of antisemitism is "the genocide in Palestine." Claims Netanyahu "wants antisemitism to be a thing" and "acts to make it so."

Kemi Badenoch calls it "morally repugnant." Jewish community leaders condemn him. Labour distances itself while keeping the £6 million.

THE PIVOT

After making £107 million on net zero hysteria, after taking £123 million in grants for "green energy," Dale Vince now attacks the very policies that built his empire:

January 2026: Heat pumps were "mis-sold." They don't save money. Government claims are false.

January 2026: His net zero airline, Ecojet, collapses before flying a single passenger. Liquidated. £20 million funding failed.

June 2026: Net zero is "toxic." Ed Miliband's Department for Energy Security and Net Zero should be broken up. The term "net zero" should be scrapped. Miliband is "unfit to be Chancellor" and lacks "grasp of basic value for money."

This from a man whose company took £123 million from that department in one year.

THE ASSESSMENT

Dale Vince is not an environmentalist. He is a political investor with returns that would embarrass a hedge fund. He bought Labour for £6 million. He received £123 million in one year. He called Hamas freedom fighters. He flies foreign flags over his football club while taking British subsidies. He made his fortune on net zero, then declared it toxic once the cheques cleared.

This is corruption wearing a hemp shirt. This is the green grift exposed. And Labour is at the heart of it, taking his money, defending his comments, delivering his returns.

The working class freeze. The grid fails. The bills rise. Dale Vince is in his hill fort. The con is complete.

Today Labour’s Gibraltar surrender deal - announced today with no debate - has once again undermined British sovereignty, repeating the mistakes of the Windsor Framework and the Chagos debacle.

The terms of the deal are shocking: Spanish officials will now conduct border checks within Gibraltar. Spain can withdraw individuals’ residency in Gibraltar, even if they already live there. Goods sold in Gibraltar must comply with EU regulations. Gibraltar is now subject to a new ‘transaction tax’ to align it with the EU. And Gibraltar must adopt new EU laws or the agreement will automatically be terminated.

The practical effect is that foreign officials will decide who and what can enter British territory. British citizens’ fingerprints will be taken and passports checked within our own territory.

At the same time, Spain has conceded nothing about its claim to Gibraltar. No self-respecting British government should be willing to accept this.

To make matters worse, Parliament and the British public have only seen the final text of this deal today, but it takes effect tomorrow. Labour have shut us out of this process and are avoiding scrutiny.

A Reform Government will stand up for our national interest and overturn this one-sided, disgraceful deal.

There can be no shared sovereignty between Britain and Spain. Gibraltar is British, not Spanish, and that is how it must remain. This is not up for negotiation or dilution by a thousand individual concessions.

And there must be no border between Gibraltar and the United Kingdom. Spanish or EU border and customs officials must not be allowed to operate in Gibraltar, or have a say in who and what can enter our territory.
