@networkrail our train driver heading south towards Gatwick just told us the chaos is due to "heat affecting the line". As far as I'm aware it's about 25 degrees outside. Has UK rail now got so bad that your rails can't cope with 25C?
@TLRailUK It's between South Croydon and East Croydon as we are being held at East Croydon. Can you advise what the nature of the obstruction is please?
@TLRailUK Is that honestly your response? "The train was cancelled because we had no people to run it"? Why not? Also it's interesting to see you don't care about your own peak hour bike travel rules.
@TLRailUK how many trains can you cancel in one day? The 1735 from London bridge to Brighton cancelled. Again. A woman nearly fainting due to the crush. what's the reason for the cancellation?
Oh and while we're at it, how is the lady in this carriage allowed on with her bike during rush hour, taking up space and three seats? There are enough staff at stations, why was she let on?
@TLRailUK I'm afraid this doesn't make much sense to me, Will. My question still stands. Why couldn't the original service run as planned towards London Bridge by being manually cleared to leave the platform, if the signalling problem was only affecting that platform?
@TLRailUK any way you can explain why the other trains from Haywards heath coming from brighton (e.g. 0649 thameslink, 0706 southern) are on time, yet the 0701 thameslink is mysteriously delayed by a "signalling failure", then cancelled?
@TLRailUK Thanks Amy. So if the signal was only affecting one platform, can the train not be permitted to leave "manually", by simply being authorised to pass the signal at red, or a non-functioning signal? (Rather than just letting it sit there, then leave late and miss stations etc.
