“For me, I could clearly see that Brady was a bit of a different player from a year before… So, probably not overly surprised at that point.”
Steve Staios comments on not being surprised by Brady Tkachuk requesting a trade.
okay yes this is a good return for Ottawa (love getting the 2029 1st) but you still traded your captain for futures when your two best players are entering their primes
I like Brady. He’s a solid guy.
But I think this is also a great move for Ottawa. Not sure his game will age well at his size and skating ability over time (could be wrong) and you’re building around Tim and Jake. I’m more than okay with this.
The #CanMNT 6-0 win over Qatar reached 11.7 million individual viewers yesterday.
An average of 5.5 million.
About 28% of the country watched at least part of that match. Simply incredible
Started covering Canadian soccer in 2000. First #canMNT and #canWNT game was in 2001. Had you told me then Canada would be hosting a men's World Cup, with the team's opening match in Toronto. I would have laughed pretty hard. We've come a long way.
My view for today's game. 😀
I’ve had the great fortune of covering many international sporting events around the world.
And feeling so grateful to be in the middle of it all for this men’s World Cup match in Toronto.
Some of the most compelling scenes I’ve ever witnessed playing out here today. Enjoy it.
Canada’s March to the Match continues to work its way through the Toronto streets toward the stadiums.
Beautiful scenes as fans chant and cheer and high five fans who are lining the streets.
It’s going to be electric inside the stadium today.
