Topaz has just released the Precise 2.5 model, and it is hands down the best thing on the market right now! 😎🤖🔥
The model now supports videos longer than 18 seconds. We threw a 67-second clip at it, and it handled it flawlessly.
Take a look at the comparison with Magnific above. Even though Magnific is widely considered top-tier right now, Topaz completely blew it out of the water. We were genuinely shocked and couldn't believe it at first. Historically, Topaz would often output a "plastic" look and really struggled with textures. Now, those textures don't just appear—they are actively enhanced and refined to look even better.
It’s already available here (https://t.co/7KOTLiPrrM). It will be coming soon to HeyGen, Higgsfield, and ComfyUI.
Let's talk pricing. Upscaling a 61-second video from 1080p to 4K costs:
Magnific: 20,815 credits, or a staggering $17.30!!
Topaz Starlight 2.5: 99 credits, which comes out to $5.40 (on the $299 plan) or $7.00 (on the $99 plan).
As for a 1-second upscale to 4K:
➡ Magnific: 28 cents ➡ Topaz Starlight 2.5: 9 cents
The Downsides:
It is incredibly slow. We waited 2.5 to 3 hours just to upscale a 61-second clip.
There are no customizable settings whatsoever.
Interpolation is limited to 30 or 60 fps. For Sydens, with its 24 frames and constant strobing, 48 fps would be a much better fit. However, that’s a very niche detail.
The output files are massive. A 1-minute video comes in at around 500 MB.
The Verdict Considering that Starlight will also be available via API, this is an absolute triple win across the board: price, quality, and accessibility. That about sums it up. Go ahead and try it out today!

For those who grabbed this one you might want to upgrade it with Toshiba's 1996 DVD release which contains both the theatrical and the director's cut. Extras include a behind the scenes feature and some trailers.
