I don't feel bad about AI writing because AI is bad at writing. (Though it usually is)
I feel bad because I am interested in the texture of individual minds, because I care as much about the inner world which created an idea as the idea itself.
One must write with their blood.
i think "true initiated, esoteric form" and "cargo cult form for the masses" is everywhere
ironically, 'esotericism' as 'oath bound' secret mumbo jumbo is a cargo cult of esotericism for public consumption. the truly esoteric can state itself plainly without being understood
@benlandautaylor Can't remember where, but I recall reading some Sanskrit saying to the effect that:
In a groom:
The girl looks at how handsome he is;
Her mother at how wealthy;
And the father at his character.
@captgouda24 That's pretty much how sane and decent people treat servants, too? Like, they're hired and paid for a job, they do a job, part of that sometimes job includes immediate work you tell them to do? At least among my peer class, anyway; elsewhere could be worse.
On top of the yield improvements, the combine harvester does the work of 100 men reaping with scythes: it is as wide as 10 men, and moves forward 10 times faster than they could walk.
Total productivity improvement (yield x labor) is on the order of 1000x since ancient times
Cutting wheat yesterday: roughly 100 grains harvested for each grain sown. In the 1300s on the Bishop of Winchester's manors, 5:1 was a good harvest, 3:1 a bad one. Thank you, Haber-Bosch nitrogen fixation and hydrocarbons, for feeding billions and sparing land.
@QiaochuYuan@visakanv@hormeze It's only thus because the Western man of Africa imposes it on us; haven't you, OTOH, from a Buddhist-interwoven culture, repeatedly asked instead for the multi-QT that'd allow the TL to relax into its natural form as Indra's net, a fractal shadow-fragment of partityasamutpada?
