Today marks the completion of three years since I began my journey as President of Prairie View A&M University.

On June 1, 2023, I arrived with a profound respect for this institution's legacy and an unwavering belief in what we could accomplish together. I was deeply motivated by the opportunity to serve an institution whose rich legacy is matched only by its limitless potential. Over the past three years, I have been inspired by the extraordinary talent and boundless promise of our students, the dedication of our faculty and staff, the passion of our alumni, and the steadfast support of our stakeholders. Together, we have advanced transformative initiatives, celebrated historic achievements, and strengthened Prairie View's position as a leading institution of higher education.

As grateful as I am for all we have accomplished, I am even more excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. As we gear up to celebrate Prairie View A&M University's Sesquicentennial (150th anniversary), the momentum we have built is creating new possibilities for our university and the generations of Panthers who will follow.

Last night and today marked a defining moment for HBCU research.

With the official launch of the Association of HBCU Research Institutions (AHRI)—bringing together 15 leading HBCU research universities for our inaugural symposium—we are stepping into a new era of collaboration, capacity, and impact.

This coalition represents a powerful concentration of research strength—accounting for 50% of all competitively awarded federal research funding among HBCUs. @PVAMU stands at the center of this momentum—advancing the vision and setting the direction for what comes next.

Through AHRI, we are expanding our research enterprise, accelerating discovery, and strengthening doctoral education—while advancing critical work in agriculture, engineering, public health, and beyond.

This is more than a milestone. It is a movement.

New Championship Alert!! I am so proud to share that @PVAMU Women's Golf captured its first Southwestern Athletic Conference @theswac Women's Golf Championship in program history!!

Additionally, Head golf coach, Kortland Ware, received SWAC Women's Golf Coach of the Year for leading the team to their championship title, during his first year as our head golf coach at PVAMU!

The 2026 Presidential Scholarship Gala—“Investing in Brilliance”—raised nearly $1.1 MILLION to fuel student dreams.
Dynamic hosting from Fox 26’s DaLaun Dillard and Denise Middleton, a moving opening number and phenomenal performances from our Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, beautiful testimonials from our students, and unmatched energy from Hybrid 7 and DJ Spinderella all contributed to a an unforgettable evening!
