@HunterProbss Also, one of the vets I work with points out, unfortunately, many people tend to want to discard unusable horses, or can't afford a second horse, so she'd rather tell clients to keep their horses in light work over retiring them all together
@HunterProbss Its such a bizarre feeling - my retired mare was more than serviceably sound but she didn't want to work so we didn't do much. Working in vet med however, I see so many horses that mentally need a job and are happy even if they're crunchy.
Friends of horse Twitter, I haven't been on in ages, but my horse is now no longer with us and I need ideas for a memorial tattoo (no dates. And I already have her face, maybe birth month flowers?)
Does anyone know about purina pro plan diets? Just switched my cats to the basic food from them bc it's cheaper than purina one since I get a discount working at a vet clinic, it says to feed free choice, my cats have never eaten free choice and are in healthy weight
@MissDemeanorLuv So I definitely read the bag wrong it says "offer free choice and not only at meal times" which is what I do, it didn't have the weight/feed ratio table on the bag so I think that's why I got confused
I can't lie. I cried
After our little bareback expedition tonight I took her bridle off, and she stood awaiting scratches. So I decided to test the waters
She yawned 10+ times during this. I can't get over how relaxed she is. And focused on me
I would never have gotten here bullying her into doing what I wanted. I got here with patience, positive reinforcement, consistency and a bit of boundary pushing
