TikTok has moved again.

Did you guys realise that every time you open TikTok, it goes to the friends tab instead of explore tab.

I went to the hairdresser today, he told me he left his hometown in JB to move to KL; stepping out from his comfort zone.

That's what I actually did in Q2 2023, fast forward and the days to 2025 are less than 3 digits.

Here's what I think.

It was a discomfort for him, moving into Sri Petaling with so much competition, and an unknown customer base; but eventually he was able to make his goal come true - starting his own.

From time to time I still think I will be called upon to do something big and great, hope 10 years later I'm really doing that big and great thing.

Paid to join communities, and people becoming divided among social platforms?

Just like de-globalisation?

Given that modern AI can solve any “prove you’re not a robot” tests, it’s now trivial to spin up 100k human-like bots for less than a penny per account.

Paid verification increases bot cost by ~10,000% & makes it much easier to identify bots by phone & CC clustering.

Obvious conclusion: paid account social media will be the only social media that matters.

Soon AI will be trying to identify which source is legit. Each AI trying to outperform each other.
