A few thoughts on the @KentuckyMBB and @UKCoachCalipari news:

1. He was the right coach at the right time for Kentucky.

2. He brought star power to a historic blue blood.

3. He was a trailblazer in one-and-done and social media for college coaches.

4. He was the first to create the pro days for men's college basketball players.

5. He got his team offseason airtime when no one else could by getting the SEC Network and ESPN platforms to televise summer events/games.

6. He did a slew of philanthropic work with his team and Big Blue Nation for a number of natural disasters both in the state of Kentucky and in the Caribbean.

7. His players were incredibly loyal to him as he was to them in promoting the players' NBA potential and careers.

8. He won a national title in 2012 and went to four Final Fours and seven Elite Eights.

9. The last three seasons ended with early exits, never to the Sweet 16.

10. Calipari said after 15 years Kentucky needed a new voice.

All of the above is true.

11. The best fit with AD Mitch Barnhart would be Baylor coach Scott Drew. They are good friends and share similar interests. Now, whether or not he is the choice or goes is another question. The Kentucky job is not for everyone. You must be someone who can handle the pressure, the interest level and the demands to compete for a title.

A couple weeks ago, we launched a campaign to hang a billboard outside of the NCAA Eligibility Center so that their employees could see it every day on the way to work.

Kentucky fans raised the money in less that 4 hours. BBN is like that!
