The moving of all the city’s stray dogs to shelters within a matter of weeks is going to result in horrendously inhumane treatment of them. Enough shelters do not even exist to take them on.

As it is animals in urban surroundings are subjected to ill treatment and brutality. Surely there is a better way to manage the situation and a humane way can be found in which these innocent animals are looked after and kept safe as well.

Dogs are the most beautiful, gentle creatures, they do not deserve this kind of cruelty.

To the public – A simple statement in defence of democracy

Dear countrymen,

Today, a question is before all of us—is our vote really in our hands, or has it been written somewhere else? Recently, Rahul Gandhi presented the antics of the Election Commission in the court of the people. These were not baseless allegations, but facts presented with documents, figures and ground realities.

But unfortunately, the facts on which action and investigation should have been taken, were dismissed by the Election Commission by just citing a tweet or ‘source’ and calling them “mislead”. The question is—is this the way the questions of the public are answered in a democracy?

The responsibility of the Election Commission is not just to conduct elections, but to maintain the trust of every citizen. If the leader of the country, whether in power or in the opposition, makes allegations with solid evidence, then it is the duty of the Commission to give a clear and public answer on every point.

Just issuing a statement or giving paper clarification is playing with the soul of democracy.

⚠️ Remember—this country runs on democracy, not the convenience of an office. The public is the real owner, and the Election Commission is the servant of the public, not the owner.

If the Commission runs away from transparency, the wall of distrust will keep growing. And one day this wall will become so high that no voice of truth will come out from within it.

Therefore, we demand on behalf of the public:

1. Every fact presented by Rahul Gandhi should be answered point by point on an open platform.

2. All voter lists and related data should be made public, so that every citizen can verify it himself.

3. The allegations should be investigated by an independent and impartial panel, which should not only have government officials, but also civil society and technical experts.

In a democracy, asking questions is not a crime. Running away from questions is a crime.
