What does writing instruction look like when every classroom speaks the same language?
Last month, our team visited Marion Street Elementary in Lynbrook, NY, and we saw exactly that. Across K–5 classrooms and multiple content areas, students weren't just learning The Hochman Method. They internalized it. Sentence expansion, appositives, single paragraph outlines — used naturally, confidently, across ELA, Social Studies, and Math.
The consistency was remarkable. The student engagement was even more so.
Could this be your school? If you are ready to explore what's possible, we would love to connect.

We are proud to share that Judy, TWR's AI activity generator and coach, has been named a Finalist for Best AI Solution for Education in the 2026 CODiE Awards!
Judy was built to scale effective writing instruction without sacrificing the support teachers need to bring the Hochman Method into their daily practice. It is rigorous, it is practical, and teachers tell us it is easy to use from day one.
This recognition means a lot to us as we work to scale evidence-based writing instruction to every student who needs it.
Winners announced July 15. Learn more: https://t.co/XZ3uAbUMoY

Fellow leaders, here is something we do not say out loud often enough: most writing instruction is not writing instruction. It’s assigned writing. And when students arrive at each new grade still struggling to construct a clear sentence, teachers feel like they are starting from scratch every year. That cycle is exhausting, and it does not have to continue.
The Hochman Method gives teachers an explicit, sequenced approach to writing that starts at the sentence level and builds all the way up through essays. It works in every subject, not just English Language Arts. When a whole school or district learns it together, something shifts. There is consistency. There is a shared language. And students actually get better at writing in a way that carries from year to year.
Summer is the right time to make this investment, not just because it is convenient, but because your teachers deserve real space to learn something well before the school year asks everything of them again. TWR's summer training gives them that space.

We love how Ms. Suri-Kumra (Woodbury Elementary School in MN) is scaffolding TWR strategies for her first graders!
In her words: "After reading Stellaluna, we completed the TWR topic sentence and details activity. We completed this activity whole group using the pocket chart (pic attached). We talked about where each detail belonged and why. My class has the multilingual learners, so we did lots of oral rehearsal and partner share. The next day we went back to the pocket chart and filled in the details again. After completing the chart we worked together and rehearsed how to turn the fragments into complete sentence. We did this for the topic sentence how Stelllaluna is similar to birds. After this about half of the class worked to turn their topic sentence and supporting details into a paragraph. The remaining students stayed on the carpet, and we looked at how we could turn the fragments into complete sentences for how Stellaluna is different. These students have stronger writing skills so I rehearsed with them how to use but to write a compound sentence. They then worked on turning their topic sentence and details into a paragraph."
There is still time to apply for the 2026–2027 Abrahamson Scholarship Program.
The Writing Revolution plans to award at least 100 scholarships this year, with the goal of reaching even more educators through the support of new donors. This opportunity is designed for public and charter school educators who do not have access to funding for Hochman Method training, with priority given to those working in underserved communities.
If you or a colleague could benefit, we encourage you to apply.

Many professional learning sessions spend a great deal of time explaining theory and pedagogy. We think educators also deserve to see it in action.
Teacher modeling is an essential part of our self-paced training here at The Writing Revolution. In this video clip, we see modeled instruction on how to revise and edit an elaborated paragraph. No hypotheticals. No “imagine this part.”
Teachers are expected to model for students every day. We believe professional learning should do the same.

You know that moment when a student says something brilliant but freezes when it is time to write? 📝
It is not a lack of ideas. It is a lack of writing skills.
Speaking and writing are both forms of expression, but they are not the same. At The Writing Revolution, a nonprofit that supports K–12 educators, we help teachers learn how to make those amazing ideas from students flow from head to paper through explicit, research-based writing instruction.

To my fellow Dyslexics. WE ARE ABOUT TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD😂
Did you know that between 20% and 40% of entrepreneurs are dyslexic? A massive number of fine artists and music artists are dyslexic as well. And did you know that 8 Sharks have been dyslexic, too?
We just see the world differently. And now the game just got easier.
AI is leveling the playing field.
Imagine dropping a 500+ page contract into something like Notebook LM and turning it into an interactive podcast where you can ask questions in real time. No more sweating over the thought of having to read. And then wondering if you even read it correctly, no more having to pay lawyers and other people to break it down for you.
You now have the power to absorb the information in the way that works for you.
It can even put it into flashcards.
Tools like this are launching every day. If you’re not using them, you’re already falling behind. So make sure you keep educating yourself on this ever changing AI. Game.
Speed kills all competition. The faster you get your product, idea, or vision out, the faster you grow.
