We're in a gap between 'peak queen' bumblebee (spring when lots of overwintered queens are looking for nest sites) & 'peak worker' bumblebee (mid summer). This year the gap seems to be deeper & more pronounced than normal. 1/7

The UK’s wildlife is continuing to decline according to the State of Nature Report 2023.
Since 1970, pollinators such as bees, hoverflies and moths, have decreased by 18% on average.
54% of flowering plants across Great Britain have decreased in where they are found.
