WE’RE SO SORRY TO BE ASKING FOR SUPPORT AGAIN… BUT THIS FUNDRAISER IS SO IMPORTANT

We never like having to put out another fundraiser, especially when we know how many people are already supporting so many worthy causes.
However, this project is incredibly important for the health, hygiene and wellbeing of the dogs in our care.

Across our two sites, we have numerous kennels that need upgrading. We are looking to complete the work stage by stage, with the kennel floors being covered in epoxy resin.

Epoxy resin flooring will provide a smooth, sealed and durable surface that is far more hygienic and much easier to clean and disinfect.
Unlike damaged or porous flooring, it helps to prevent dirt, bacteria, moisture and odours from becoming trapped in cracks and difficult-to-reach areas.

This will make a real difference to the dogs in our care by creating a cleaner, safer and more comfortable environment. It will also help our team maintain the highest possible standards of hygiene while making the kennels easier to clean between dogs.

We are trying to raise the money for this project through fundraising rather than taking a large amount from the charity’s existing funds.

Those funds are needed every day for emergency veterinary treatment, medication, food, rehabilitation and the ongoing care of the dogs who rely on us.

By raising the money specifically for this project, we can improve the kennels while helping to protect the funds that are vital for the dogs already in our care.

We know times are difficult, and we completely understand that not everyone is able to donate. But if you can contribute, no matter how small, every donation will help us move one stage closer to giving our dogs the clean, safe and hygienic kennel environment they deserve.

UPDATE ON OUR BEAUTIFUL GIRL ❤️🐾
Following on from our recent post about the dog who came into our care after suffering extreme cruelty, we wanted to share an update.
Yesterday, she attended the vets for a bandage change and a full health check. Following her assessment, we have had to introduce further medication for her eyes, and specialist food has been ordered to help her safely build up her weight and regain her strength.
There has also been a suggestion from the police that the severe skin damage on her back may have been caused by boiling water being poured onto her skin. This has not been confirmed, but the possibility is deeply distressing and makes this already heart-rending case even more difficult to comprehend. Patel was severed with a bread knife her weight is so low this is why we’ve had to bring in special food. Her body score is 2 out of 9. 😢

Her veterinary appointment, treatment and ongoing care yesterday came to a cost of £202.11 to the charity.
This is only the beginning of what may be a long journey of recovery, and she will continue to need veterinary treatment, specialist food, medication, patience and lots of love.

Despite everything she has endured, today she started tapping her feet when she saw our staff. Such a small gesture, but one that meant so much to us. It is a sign that she may be starting to feel safe and that she is beginning to trust the people caring for her.

We bought her a lovely cuddly toy, along with some treats and fresh chicken , simple comforts that every dog deserves, but which may be completely new to her.

This is truly one of the most heart-rending cases we have encountered. Seeing the condition she arrived in has been incredibly difficult, but those little moments of trust and happiness remind us why we will keep fighting for her.
If you are able to support her ongoing care, no matter how small the donation, it would mean so much. Every contribution will help us continue providing the veterinary treatment, medication, specialist food and care she desperately needs.
