If you’ve ever worked a menial job you’ve come across a certain type of person. He has a type of object permanence disorder. They take on a sort of complex, where they think they’re the only ones doing any work. Every task they complete is the only task being completed. They don’t think about the people in the backrooms, or downstairs or anywhere outside of his immediate view. They complain when an employee is taking a break, even a scheduled one, especially if it’s while they have to be completing a task. It’s a bizarre “everyone is stupid and lazy but me” attitude that makes them pretty unpleasant to be around.
It’s clear a lot of people bring that energy into their relationships.
Except for a handful of psychopaths, women do not have a secret desire to murder their children, this is absurd. In fact, a big reason many women feel Patrick must have done it is because it’s so hard for women to wrap their minds around a seemingly normal mom strangling her children, it’s unfathomable to them
You can tell a guy is low status if he’s obsessed with making fun of fat women. It’s always the people on the second rung of the ladder giving the hardest time to those on the bottom, it’s the only privilege they have and they’ll be damned if they don’t make the most out of it
Sorry but with some cases of artistic genius it’s simply part and parcel. Imagine seeing a collection like this and thinking to yourself, “yeah this guy definitely has normal feelings about Hitler”
We obsess over ideas of free will (which only have their roots in Stoicism, Christianity, and the Enlightenment) unnecessarily; our legal system punishes a father who “premeditated” the murder of his daughter’s rapist but a frothing-at-the-mouth lunatic just “needs help.”
Couples sort on intelligence harder than nearly anything.
Spousal IQ correlation: ~.40
Personality: ~.10.
I wish this were more widely known. Our users hate giving us intelligence/SAT score data, but it's insanely helpful in making great matches.
Far moreo than "where did you go to school."
